How do I induce my period on norethisterone 5mg

Hey

I don't get periods and dr prescribed me 5mg of above. It says on packet take 1 tablet 3 times daily and that period will come when medication is stopped. There are 30 tablets - do I take them all??? Or take for a few days then stop?

Thanks :* it's just I can't get to speak to her for 2 weeks as our doc is fully booked every 2 weeks in advance and the info on front of packet doesn't say how many days but I'll try it for the duration of what's in the packet maybe xx thank u again for reply xx

I would talk to your doctor as most the time you would take them for five days

Yeah you need to speak to your gp, I used to be put on it for either 5 days or 7... Never got the difference between when they would suggest one or the other.

Call the receptionist and just say you need to check duration of use for the tablets as it has not be discussed.

Receptionist should be able to find out if you call them. I think it's 5 days but I've also been told to take for 14 days two a day so best to check.

My most recent treatment plan has me on them for 17 days morning and night. I guess it's all different depending on our needs/what and when they are trying to achieve. Definitely call the surgery. Even if you can't get to see them for 2 weeks, Doc will normally call to discuss or at least leave a message with their secretary.
