This doesn't get any easier. After a lovely weekend away and some booze..thanks for the advice all you fab ladies, I returned to my period however after it coming like 9 days early last month, this month it was a few days late and very light like only a day. I called clinic and we in tomorrow for scan and to pick up meds for short protocol. This will be our 3rd fresh cycle in less than a year. My query is will all this treatment play havoc with my periods? They were always fairly light and on time and only lasted 3 days but this is barely non existent. I am all worried now this might be early menopause and all the eggs I had left have been collected through two ivf. Getting myself all worked up when I swore I would try to stay calm. DianeArnold would you have any advice or know why this may be or any other ladies out there experiencing weird periods. I am all worried this is not a good sign for our treatment Xx

Hey lovely, I really don't think that you have used all your eggs through the ivf! I think your body recruits a fair few eggs naturally each natural cycle then chooses the one best one to keep growing, which is the same as ivf but we keep growing them all not just the chosen one. That's just my Understanding though, I could be wrong. My periods have done the same, got a lot lighter since 2 rounds of ivf just 3 months apart, and I have the same worry but I'm pretty sure it's just us worrying!!
I'm also planning my 3rd now, had my WTF today and no idea what to do next now... mild, another max dose, egg donor... arrrrgh!
Xx
Mine have got a bit heavier since ivf. I was very light too, started dark, a little red and then dark again and lasting only 2-3 days. The last two I've had have been a 7 day and a 5 day. What I'm saying is I doubt its premenopause, more likely that ivf can have an effect on our cycles xx
Yes orla9298 I read that too. That in a normal monthly cycle the best egg grows the others die, and in ivf the meds force the other eggs to grow too, is in theory (and I'm no dr by a long shot!) ivf isn't using up eggs xxx. Good luck. I think worry is just par for the course with ivf. We all want it to work so much xxx
My periods were always clockwork for my whole life I could tell you what day I would start my periods for the next 6 months and I would be 100% spot on! But since starting ivf oh my gosh, 4 days early, 10 days late, NEVER on time or when they were supposed to be, some really heavy some
Really light, just aaaaaaallllll over the place like I've never experience before. So from my experience I would say it's most likely the treatment messing with your body's natural clock xx
Thanks that's so reassuring. I wondered as well as I had a scratch for the first time too xx
I agree wit Hidden my cycle was always clockwork before IVF but thereafter I didn't know when it would arrive, thankfully after a couple of months it settled down. Same pattern too light and heavy and length different also. Xx
Hi hun. That does sound weird sorry I can't really help but I've had the same kind of problems. My periods have been really off since ivf and they were always on time. The last few months I ve had about a week of spotting before it came. I've just gone back on pill to try and regulate them as not trying to get pregnant any more anyway xx
Hey Vic, I can see why you would think this. In a normal cycle we produce more than one follicle too but once there is a dominant one the others shrink and dies away. The drugs only only encourage all of the follicles to stick around so the eggs can be collected instead of dying. So no you're not depleting your eggs and menopause doesnt ome quicker. I hope that makes sense!xx
Thanks ladies just a bit fed up and deflated today. Off to pick up my drugs...😢😢xx
Thanks so much Cinderella5 I am always so grateful for your support. Scan today and all seems well so meds in fridge all set for tomorrow .3 sets daily this time..oh joy xxx
You too sweetie..this for de now for you? ?xx
