How to have a heavier period?

Morning.

I just had another negative pregnancy test I ovulated on my birthday and had myself convinced it would work. (Same as every month šŸ™„). You would think after three years I would know to stop getting my hopes up.

Our IVF was cancelled the same as most of you. Trying now to take the time to eat Healthy and exercise while weā€™re waiting.

My periods have been very very light the past year. Is there anything I could be taking to help have a heavier period?

Also I have the clear blue fertility monitor. Does anyone know if itā€™s definitely exact. Could it be reading the wrong ovulation dates?

Thanks ladies. Love having you all to vent to on my bad days.

Hope your all having a better day today. Hoping this is over soon and we can start our treatments back up xxx

I suppose thereā€™s those old wives tales to thicken the lining like pomegranate and beetroot juice up to ovulation.

Not helpful in these times but i visited a womb massueuse who would massage my womb and lower back to increase blood flow. She also gave me a mixture of herbs and flowers to use to steam down below (the things you do ay!?). It definitely helped my period consistency be thicker, however i never caught naturally from it unfortunately xx

Hello!

I'd be interested in anyone's experiences with this too!

I've been having much lighter periods over the past couple of years - they've gone from 4-5 days bleeding to barely 2. There was one month where it was only 1 day!

I've asked my fertility doctors about it and they seem to say that as long as the whole cycle length is regular then nothing to worry about.

I've read it could be due to a thin lining so therefore less bleeding, but I've had scans during my luteal phase and the lining is always 13-14mm which I've read is quite good?

I'm going to try castor oil pack next month to see if this helps as I've heard it improves blood flow, but would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried anything which has worked too! xx

Hi PollyPocket.

My doctor said the same. Lighter periods arenā€™t important but I canā€™t help but feel that it is!

I had a few fertility massages before the lockdown. Iā€™ve also been doing the castor oil packs but I havenā€™t seen any change.

At any scans Iā€™ve had they said my lining was good but as Iā€™m unexplained Iā€™m trying everything šŸ™„. Driving myself demented!!

Hope your holding up ok xx

I think we're all looking for some answers, it's only natural to analyse everything! We are unexplained too.

Sorry to hear about your negative test...hopefully won't be too long before we can start our treatments again xx

My doctors also keep saying itā€™s totally ok to have a shorter lighter period (mine is a day or two at most and very very light), I have always been concerned that itā€™s maybe a reason why I have unexplained infertility, but they keep reassuring me that it doesnā€™t matter, what matters is that Iā€™m having a fairly regular period šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Hi!

Yes I've read that applying a flannel socked in the oil to your lower stomach and then applying heat (hot water bottle) can help with blood flow. I'm not sure how well it works, but if anything it's supposed to be relaxing!
