Cyclogest Pessary

Hi all hope you are all enjoying the sunshine.

Just looking for some advice from you all, before I speak to the nurse tomorrow which i rather not do as I feel a little embarrassed....

Have any of you who are using the cyclogest pessarys finding a lot of 'gunk' in their knickers? I'm not sure if I'm not pushing the pessarys up far enough (I thought I was) but it's almost like clay type substance which I'm finding, I'm just worried I'm not doing it correctly and they won't be doing the job they're suppose to?

Sorry if it sound graphic, can you tell why I didn't want to speak to the nurse ha!! Xx

I would describe it like cottage cheese - gross I know!! I was told to have a warm bath and clear some of it out every couple of days 😝. Apparently having some excess/discharge whatever it is is normal x

Haha cottage cheese that's exactly right 😂

We do have to go through some things don't we!! Xx

I had the same, they recommend lying down for 15 mins after each one but know that it's not always possible. I used panty liners to make it easier and less messy X

Another of glamorous sideffects of this process. Sometimes I find I have more discharge than others.  I did remember reading that there is a waxy coating on the pessary and a lot of what you see is that. If possible I lie down for as long as I can after inserting them and sometimes that helps. Also  a nice excuse to get OH to run about after me for a bit! Haha

As the others have said it's the waxy coating, panty pads take care of it.

Hey, as others have said its normal. And gross. Makes you feel so attractive. For the morning one I set my alarm at 5, popped it in then found less ran out but some always did. Grr.

How far can you put it really!? Maybe that's a whole different thread 😂😂😂

Best of luck xxx

Oh yes... this is normal. Your body absorbs the hormone and excretes the wax substance that it was contained in. When I decided to go private and paid for my 3rd transfer they advised me to use the pessaries rectally as your body quickly absorbs more of the hormone that way and there's no mess whatsoever. I didn't like the sound of it at all but honestly it was much easier than doing it the other way and having to lie down afterwards and then deal with the mess. Each to their own though 😘 x x

Totally normal like other people have mentioned it's the wax coating I just use panty liners ,I lay with my legs up high for 20mins and it still comes away but it's normal don't worry x
