Didn't even get to egg collection.

Just got back from hospital after cycle has been cancelled. Only 2 tiny follicles and oestrogen levels in my boots. Consultant is baffled as had AMH level in the 20's which is amazing for a 40 year old and also previous huge response to clomid.

Feel so gutted that didn't even get to IVF bit and think I'm running out of time (and money).

Sorry to hear that, that is so gutting. Take time to look after yourself. Have you thought of donor eggs? All the best to you xxx

It might have been that particular drug that you didn't respond to. Take care x

Oh hon, I'm 38. My first cycle was cancelled before EC too due to my hormone response. I was so gutted.

Hang in there. Remember there are plenty of women up to 45 having perfectly healthy babies, it is really easy to feel old in this process, let's face it, the minute you get over 35 the pressure is put on us :(

I'm sure your doctor will look more deeply into what happened and find a solution

Big hugs x

My first cycle was also cancelled due to follicles not responding properly and I had a really high amh level. My second cycle I had a good number of follicles but only 1 egg collected and fertilised. My third cycle I had 4 eggs collected and my fourth and final they got 12. I was on the same medication on all 4 cycles but they increased the dosage for the last 3 cycles. Unfortunately my ivf journey is at an end and I am now going through the adoption process but Hopefully this gives you a little bit of hope that your results next time can be much better. Maybe this first go has given your body a kickstart in preparation for your next round. That was how I looked at it. Good luck. Xxx

Sorry to hear about your experience. My sister adopted a 6 month old girl last June who is just perfect. Makes me feel more positive should we end up going down that line. Good luck. x

Thanks for your comments, its really helped me today. The clinic have generally been rubbish and unsupportive but met a different consultant yesterday who was great. Wasn't planning on going with them again but have more confidence now that she will tweak things for me. Just wish they would personalise it first time round. I didn't have a blood test until day 6 of stims which seems a bit late to do anything about it. Is this normal? x
