Hi all, I am having a laparoscopy & dye test soon just wondered how much time I will need off work afterwards. At the moment they are not treating anything but may do once they see what, if anything is preventing me conceiving.

Thanks

Hi, it will depend on what they will find during the operation and if and how they will treat it. The more they have to do, the longer the recovery usually takes. I had a lap last year and they found endometriosis and removed it. I went back to work after 10 days but should have stayed at home for 2 weeks - it takes a bit longer than you think. Give yourself and your body enough time to rest and recover. If you go back too early you'll be really exhausted. Good luck!

Hi Willo38, I had a week off after my lap and still felt soar and needed to take things slow for a few days after that. Even driving was difficult, I had no idea how much I used my tummy muscles when driving! I just work a desk job so it depends what you do and as miri-p says what they find.

Good luck, it's really not that bad :-) xx

I had mine last week i had a week booked off work and needed it! In the end I did need a bit of work done as my left tube was 'kinked' so they sorted that out but cutting adhesion's away he said after I was as good as new and no reason he could see for me not to conceive. got appointment tomorrow to find out where we go from here so finding out results from blood tests and sperm test.

Dont worry about the Lap it was my first ever General and I was Kakking myself ;) but it wasn't too bad at all glad they found something and fixed it as we hope that's all that we have had wrong and now its fixed we are hopefully good to go x

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am so nervous about going to sleep! I am trying to do all this without work knowing about it. My job is so active I am on my feet all day so sounds like I'll need a week off at least. Has anyone else got away with telling work what they are having done? Just wondered what you had told them. cheers x
