Evening ladies :) I’m currently told I have ‘unexplained infertility’ I have had all tests u can think of apart from a laparoscopy, can I have this ok the nhs even tho I’m not funded for ivf due to fiancé having a daughter ? As I’ve been told a lot of women have found the problem by having this.. I also have PCO so is this something that is stopping me for conceiving ?xx

Laparoscopy is funded on the NHS as far as I know. I know someone who's husband has children so had to fund her own ivf, but had laparoscopy for free.

My laparoscopy was free on the NHS. It is part of investigations so coming from a different pot to the IVF so you should be ok.

Thank you xx

Hi hun - I couldn’t access ivf funding for the same reason.

But I had a laparoscopy via nhs. I do have endometriosis- before that it was “unexplained”.

I think any women about to undergo fertility treatment should have endometriosis ruled out/ treated.

If you have any questions on the procedure be happy to help xoxo

Ah thanks Hun, I don’t have any of the symptoms of endometriosis.. only thing they have found is pco? But as my periods are like clockwork they ruled out pcos x

Prior to being diagnosed my fertility doctor prescribed clomid - he thought I initially had pco not pcos- it turns out o don’t. I thought if you had pco you qualified for 6 months of clomid- to help ovulation. My progesterone indicated I ovulated.

When the clomid failed and I had chronic pain I was offered - lap n dye , he also offered to drill my ovaries if they were pco to boost ovulation , and finally to check for / treat endometriosis.

Drilling ovaries is for pco for when clomid hasn’t worked. It is effective for 9 months after.

Not all women will have symptoms with endometriosis. It also amazes me that some women with severe Endo have no symptoms yet a woman with mild endo has every symptom going.

Good luck xoxo

This sounds just like me.. I was given 6months clomid even though I ovulate, I’m now due bk after the 6months which is March now ad they postponed the appointment.. do u think PCO effects ttc then?x
