Hi first time writing on here wondered if anyone can help. I went for my hsg Monday and she said I got Hydrosalpinx (tubes blocked due to operation) has anyone had this. Do they try unblock it or just go straight down Ivf route. Thanks x

Hsg results help

Hi there I had a hydrosalpinx on my left tube and standard practice is to either detach or remove the affected tube as the liquid that's currently in the hydro may drop into the uterus and affect implantation at IVF, significantly reducing the success of IVF. So whilst it's really frustrating that you have to go through another procedure it's worth it if it gives you the best possible shot.
Same here, for sure the best thing is to either close off or remove the tube(s) with the hydrosalpinx, then go for IVF. this happened to me and I had both tubes removed, and am now 22 weeks pregnant from my subsequent IVF. I know that the decision to have tubes removed is really hard though, as you need to accept you will never get pregnant naturally. I found it very hard to deal with emotionally, but after the operation I felt really positive. Good luck xxx
Hi dos it hurt having it done and did you have to wait long after my hsg they just let me go didn't say who would be intouch I forgot to ask as was trying to take everything in . Did you have to wait long for ivf and congrats by the way xx
I've just had hsg test done in Jan did they say any of the dye had gone through? When I had mine she just said that it had gone through the tube couple of bumps along the way but was good it had gone through I'm now waiting to see my consultant for a more detailed description of it hoeing that cause it went through my tube there's a chance I will concive x
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I had a blocked tube and my specialist did nothing about it, said to leave it and see if it clears itself. I'm 19, 18 at the time of surgery so removal or clamping wasn't an option. I am now happy to say that even though it is still blocked and that ovary stopped working, I am 31 weeks pregnant after three long year of trying. It can happen naturally and you don't have to use ivf because of a hydro so just wait it out and see what happens. Are you young? Maybe that's why they haven't suggested further treatment. Good luck either way and hope you get pregnant soon xxx
Hi I think she did mention getting them removed as both mine are completely blocked and larger then normal (due to appendixs when I was younger) but I got a appointment next month see what there actually gonna do so fingers crossed and am 23 congrats on your pregnancy 😁👶🏻 x
