Thanks

Hi I was put on list for ivf Jan 2013 at glasgow royal and was originally told it would take a minimum of 24 months, however, thats me now had my prostap injection and things are definetly moving faster now. I know initially it seems like a long time to wait, but it will fly by as lisa said earlier they are getting to people quicker now so hopefully you wont have to wait too long xx hope all goes well xx
Thanks for replying, it does feel like such a wait you're right hopefully it goes by fast. We just got our letter for first app for November so that has been really fast gives me something to aim for. I take it the first app is just lots if tests again? How is everything going with you? What's the next stage? X
First appointment when you go is just to talk about what type of treatment you will be having, ivf, icsi etc, all depends on your reason for infertility, mines is unexplained so I was told that I would be having IVF and to check your weight etc, at this appointment i was told about the 24 month weight and was told that I would receive a letter when I reached the top of the list. Have you had tests etc from your doctor to confirm your ovulating etc? To be honest the reason why I felt that the time went in quick from the first appointment was that when I was initially referred the BMI limit was <35, which I was, however, the nhs guidelines changed to <30, so I spent most of the last year focusing on losing weight, which I have managed more than 3 stone. Since I received my letter stating that I was at the top of the list, things have been moving really fast. Had an appointment at Royal yesterday for my prostap inj (which was not bad at all, kinda worked myself up too much for that) Due to go back on 27/10 for scan and then prov booked in to start stimms on 29/10 all going well. Unfortunately, I've been told that my AMH is 4 so will be on high dose of stimms, however, trying not to worry about that too much.
I do hope that your time goes by quick for you, I know how you feel, try not to worry too much about things, hope all goes well xxx
Glad that everything is moving in the right direction for you. I feel every appointment is another step along the journey. We have unexplained infertility too and we have done every test in the book so far but I think I have to repeat them again at gri. That's excellent that you managed to loose 3 stone that's a huge thing in itself. Hope everything goes well with you, keep me posted on your journey x
