Hi ladies! First of all, I wish you all the best wherever you are in your journey.
I was wandering if some of you have any advice on what are the timeframes in actually starting the treatment after going at the clinic (GRI through NHS specifically) to sign all the paperwork given at last appointment.
I’ve been there for the screening tests on the 21st August and I’ll have to be back for the paperwork and consents to bu signed on the 26th September, so I’m starting feeling like it never starts, and I’m getting really impatient.
Any advice will be very much appreciated!

Hi ! It took approx 2/3 months but I was privately funded from start to finish. But I’m not sure how much that influenced the time. good luck in your cycle x
It did yes, my first cycle and I’m currently 10w1d I couldnt go thru the nhs due to my partner having a child from a previous r/ship and my bmi was higher than 30. Xxx
I had to lose weight so that increased my start time, after I'd done that it all moved fairly quickly except for the clinic backlog. I have 2 NHS cycles.
I got so frustrated with the NHS, months to wait inbetween appointments so we went private very quickly but I'm also 39 so wouldn't be entitled to any support anyway so just bit the bullies. Started with our first injection last night.
Tell me about it, we are begging and borrowing! It's so frustrating but I know the NHS don't see it as urgent. I even ask my GP surgery to do all my blood needed before the IVF to save us £500 which they have done but the Dr on the phone was very stressy and said "I am very busy dealing with people who are actually ill!".
Oh the doctor shouldn’t have said that! I get it that it’s not a matter of life or death, but for us it’s essential 😞 and having to deal with people that don’t understand doesn’t make it easier.
We’re trying to save while waiting for the NHS as I know it’ll take forever. But the company I work for has the worse maternity leave plan ever, so I must think and save for it too.
Anyway, keep me posted hun xxx I pray for you both 🙏🏻
Thank you...and for you! I also know it's not life or death but i said in response to him that this is extremely important to us and I hadn't even wasted an appointment I was doing it over the phone to be the least of a burden on the NHS as possible. X
