Is anyone from Glasgow
Hi there, Im from Glasgow and in NHS waiting list, so long tho I am just about to start a cycle and self funding. Have u been on the list a while?xx
Since June and was told it's about a year waiting list but may be sooner xx
I'm from Glasgow and had treatment at gri. They were really good and I am now 29 weeks pregnant. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions. X
Congratulations stroud77, I am so pleased for you, it is such a Journey. I am at the very begining and due to the festive period approaching having to wait to start but have found gri really good so far.xx
Aw congratulations Stroud77 it's good to hear positive outcomes,am just waiting on my screening appointment at the Royal they will contact me when I reach the top am so nervous has have no idea what to expect, what will happen on that day etc?this isn't my first time on this list I reached the top in 04 but didn't feel emotionally ready and as it turned out wrong guy,I did try to unblock remaining tube in 06 but found out in June this year it's became blocked again so ivf it's to be am just so scared it doesn't work.xx
I am from the Glasgow /west coast area but don't live there now so my treatment is under Northumberland. I hope you get through the list quickly, it's an agonising wait xx
Hi, I am from Glasgow and went through ivf at GRI... I am now 11.5 weeks pregnant ☺️. They are so nice there and the success rate is now 50%!! Any questions please ask xx
Aw that's great news congrats 😁,hope am as lucky as you,and 50% is a lot better than there numbers used to be.just so nervous but glad I found this site that has people that have experienced the gri.
Hi, congratulations!! ive got my first appointment at GRI on the 9th Feb. do you know if that 50% success rate is for everyone? Im 40 and scared that this is our only chance! xx
Hi, I think it is there overall success rates but they use an embryoscope now which has helped to increase the chances from a few years back. My only advice is to try and prepare your body as much as possible before the treatment starts. They ask you & your partner to be t total for 3 months prior to starting treatment and I also researched what foods could increase chances.. Things like Brazil nuts, advocados, organic eggs and made sure they were in my daily diet... I was willing to try anything tbh. Best of luck, I believe that the process gets easier once it starts but I felt more in control at that point. They will give you 2 chances even with your age and more if you have any frozen eggs. Keep positive and good luck xxx
thanks Hhmcct!
we were married in december and spent the end of December/beginning of Jan (up till last weekend) on honeymoon - which we def didn't go T total on! Haven't drank since then though.
As it is our first appointment on 9th Feb, how many other sessions would we have before we start on the injections? (Sorry for the questions) And when would they be doing the extraction and then implant?
Ive been told that I can have one ivf session only on the nhs. But we are keeping everything crossed!! and trying to keep positive xx
Hey not from glasgow dalry but i attend glasgow hospital i had my first round lastyear unfortunatly had a negative result i was due to start my second but had to wait as ive had a tough time with stuff at home xx
Hello
I'm also from Glasgow. We were referred to the GRI and had our first appointment there however, we transferred to Ninewells in Dundee for our actual treatment. We were given his option as at the time the waiting list in Glasgow was 9 months but for Dundee we only had to wait for 3. I'm now 19 weeks pregnant.
Good luck! x
Hi, I'll be attending GRI. We'very just received our first appointment for the Urologist, Dr Vani at the beginning of Dec so it all starts here!! Good luck to you xx
Hi, we have had 2 meetings at Victoria and have just returned from our honeymoon, to find an appointment (9th Feb) at the Royal Infirmary. Does anyone know what this first meeting at the GRI wil consist of?
Hello
Did you have all your tests done at Victoria? I.e. AMH, Hycosy etc?
At my first GRI appointment trey just explained the whole process from the tests they do to the process for IVF. GRI was my local hospital though so I hadn't been seen on the NHS before then.
As we had paid privately for the tests whilst on the waiting list (for peace of mind) we were put straight on the IVF waiting list. We were offered IVF at GRI (9-12 months wait at the time) or to go to Edinburgh (6 months wait) or Dundee (3 month wait). We opted for Dundee and never looked back!
Good luck for your appointment on the 9th x
