Hello everyone! I’m new to this forum. Hubby and I have been trying for 18 months. I have stage 2 endo and a blocked tube, hubby fine. We were referred for IVF in March and just received our first appt for next month. I take it this will just be some bloods tests etc and a chat? Any idea currently how long from the first appt until starting treatment? Any advice on IVF at the GRI would be great! Thanks

Waiting time GRI IVF
GRI as in Glasgow? The first appointment was a chat, filling out paperwork and some blood tests (I think, it's been a while). Then you'll be told to phone once you have your period. The staff there were really good. I had two rounds there.
Hello I’m being treated at GRI too (I have PCOS). I was being treated initially with letrozole but I failed to ovulate and now I’m ready to start IVF. My first IVF appointment they tested my AMH level and a full hormone screen and talked through all the forms you have to complete. The second appointment was 3 weeks later where they sign off the forms and tell you the protocol you will be on and when you work out when like to start IVF. Due to various commitments we start in July.
Keep us updated with how you get on.
Good luck!

Hi Emma, thanks for replying! Good luck for July! When did you have your first appt at GRI? X
My first appointment was maybe April last year, then I had a series of tests, bloods, ultrasounds, HSG, my bf had a sperm analysis. All of my bfs tests were normal, so were mine besides PCOS but I only had 2 periods in 12 months. They started me on letrozole but unfortunately I still never ovulated. They put me on the waiting list for IVF in December and I had my first IVF appointment in March.
It sounds like you’ve already had a lot of these tests so hopefully it’ll happen quite quickly. The waiting is so frustrating!! Xx
GRI is pretty good for wait times. I think we waited 5 months from IVF referral to 1st cycle. When you get in there the appointments come thick and fast. The only think to be wary of is that is you don’t always get in the months you want. They recommend you book in a provisional appointment. E.g we were ready to go in February but it was fully booked so got a provisional date (guesstimate of when period would come in March). After that one failed we’re now booked in for June as May was full.
They will tell you that at your appointments though.
Good luck.
It’s so reassuring to know there are so many Glasgow girls!! Having a similar experience. Good luck to all of us! Xx
Thanks for sharing your journeys guys! I really thought it would be at least another year so I’m a bit more hopeful that it will be sooner. Yes-had all of the tests, bloods, AMH, HSG, laparoscopy etc. With the endo and blocked tube they just said IUI wouldn’t be worth it so referred for IVF. I was still hopeful that maybe the lasering off the endo would help but doc didn’t seem so confident. Good luck to you both 🤞🏻
Hi, I’m currently under the care of GRI at the moment. From meeting with the consultant to having our first screening appointment it was 5mths. The next appt was 6 weeks later then we were able to book treatment after next period. We have had a few delays on the way due to smear test results. In process of FET now.
