You take them 3 months before egg collection to mature your eggs more and make them stronger worth a try has anyone tried these before?

Hi I havnt used them as one of the side effects is that it can rise your blood pressure and I have had issues in the past of raised BP. However as one of the private clinics we looked into recommended it I did look into it. I think generally there has been some positive outcomes using it but the data isn't huge at the moment to say that will definantly have positive results hence not all clinics would use it

Hi. Regarding treatment with Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) it is still in its early days. Women with reduced ovarian reserve have been given 75 mgs of this drug a day, in divided doses of 25 mgs 3 times a day for around 2 months, been found to respond better to stimulation during IVF. Some consultants will offer treatment with DHEA. For those who have not already used the drug, you would need to ask and discuss it thoroughly with your consultant to see if he/she agrees with it and also regarding the potential side effects, which are similar to using steroids. I must admit, that I have known several women, especially in the older age group, who have managed to produce more eggs during IVF than the one or two they had previously. All the best to whoever does try it out. Diane

Hi gill76. Yes, that's usually what is advised, but just check with your doctor first. Good luck with it! Diane
