viability scan - twins but only one heartbeat

hello all

I’ve been on this site before through my ivf times. It took me 3 transfers to fall pregnant with my son (who sadly died at 16 weeks), my fourth transfer gave us our rainbow baby girl.

I’ve recently found out I’m pregnant naturally which was the biggest shock of my life as I had already paid for a sibling transfer and was waiting for my cycle to start to start meds.

Anyway, been for a viability scan today and one baby is measuring broadly where it should be with a heartbeat and to our shock, there was a second baby, measuring a week behind with no heartbeat.

Twin A measuring about 6w 2D

Twin B measuring 5w 2D

has this ever happened to anyone? If so what was the outcome? I’m realistic to the possibility that twin B might not make it but curious as to others experience.

thank you
