viability scan - enlarged yolk sac?

so I had my viability scan today and had a foetal pole and heartbeat present and ok for my dates. The nurse mentioned the yolk sac was quite enlarged (definitely greater than embryo so maybe about 5-7mm but she didn’t measure it.

Has anyone else had this? Unfortunately I googled it and it just comes up with horrible statistics than high chance of miscarriage or high likelihood of genetic abnormality with the embryo.

Absolutely gutted as I was really hoping maybe this pregnancy might end in a baby and now it’s all over the place and feel really anxious that I’m just going to miscarry again 😭 xxx

Good sign foetal pole + heartbeat present The yolk sac increases in size till about 11weeks {remember this is supporting the embryo at the moment ]then it disappears Best not to Google to much If still worried get in touch with scanning dept for reassurance Or ask questions at next scan

Thank you 🙏 that’s so good to hear! I had another scan last week and looks like growing well and heartbeat still there (not sure cause embryo is bigger it makes the yolk sac looks smaller?) they didn’t comment on the size and said didn’t seem big? I am still measuring two days behind but have another scan tomorrow that I’m really hoping will go well 🤞🤞🤞 xxx

that’s so reassuring to hear, I was so worried that it was bad news not measuring correctly. I really hope still going strong at my scan tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to comment xxx
