Hello, i just had my 32wk app with my consultant (I say 'My' it was just one available i had never met before!) and when i asked when i should stop taking Asprin, he said i continue to the end of my pregnancy...
For background my pregnancy is IVF & i have low papp-a (Reason for taking Asprin) For me, that doesnt seem right... i didnt question him but will speak with my midwife at my next app. I have read of alot of people stopping at 36 wks - Just wondering for those of you who took Asprin, when did you stop ?
Thanks, Kate x

hi, same as Positive20 , I was prescribed it for length of pregnancy and on the evening I went in to hospital to be induced they told me not to take it that night.
From memory, they waited until 24 hours past my last dose before they started induction. However I was also on fragmin so maybe they were also waiting for that too.
Currently on aspirin again and just at 37 weeks now and told to keep taking it xx
Hi I have been taking 150mg Aspirin since 7 weeks and have been told to stop at 36 weeks, I will be going in for planned c section at 37 weeks though so not sure if this is why. I do feel anxious about stopping as I am high risk for Preeclampsia again. I will check with my consultant next week just to be sure.
hi, an update after I asked my midwife re aspirin and she said there was new guidance to stop at 36 weeks. So I’m stopping now.
She said there was no harm to continue but also no point, as the useful actions of aspirin are in the first half of pregnancy when the placenta is forming.
She said the new guidance was very recent and not everyone is yet recommending them.
Hi there. As a midwife new guidance is to stop at 36 weeks, as it can slightly increase risk of haemorrhage (it's a very low dose so not too high a risk, unlike LMWH). X
