Big knock to mybump and anterior placenta

Am feeling a bit scared... I'm 16+2 and my last scan showed my placenta was low and anterior. I managed to walk into the table carrying a box today and the box went deep into my stomach with the sharp end and pushed everything in quite hard. Am now in a bit of discomfort and terrified that i could have damaged the placenta/caused a bleed. EPU is not open until tomorrow. Am I being irrational or should i be worried????

I hope you feeling better. I had a little fall last week and the midwives listened to heart beat at our local birthing centre. Do you have one close by or do your midwives have an out of hours tel?

I am not a medical professional and don’t know when to worry either but midwives told me baby is well cushioned with amniotic fluid and body. I think it has to be quite a big impact to do you a disservice.

I was told to go to an and e if any bleeding or cramps though.

Hope you both ok.

Oh gosh am so sorry you experienced that 😩 but glad your baby is ok. ♥️

I'm a week and a half shy of being able to go to the midwives/maternity unit as apparently it's only Early preg unit or A&E for up to 18 weeks..

I'm mostly concerned because my placenta is anterior and so where i took a sharp blow it's right at the front?

Am hopefully gonna get my GP to refer to Epu tomorrow as desperate for a scan to check ive not done any damage to the placenta...

Hate all the worry 😩

Hello, I’ve been where you are with a low laying placenta with twin 1, and I had a big knock to my bump (a couple of times actually). I remember feeling really scared too that I’d caused damage and so went in for a check up, all was absolutely fine and my consultant reminded me that baby is well cushioned and it would take a really hard accident or something much more than you’re describing to cause any injury to baby or yourself. Go get yourself checked out when you can and try not to worry 🫶🏻 xx
