16 midwife appointment

I had my appointment yesterday and they said they might not be able to hear the heartbeat as I was only 15 weeks 4 days ( I have to see my midwife on a Tuesday and didn’t want the appointment to be right in the middle of Christmas!). But they put the machine on and there is was straight away! Sounding like a train! It was such an amazing experience!! First time I had heard the heart beat! Cheered my husband up who is isolating as he has Covid! ( I recorded it!!)

So no real question just wanted to share this!

it really is! They were lovely too and said if we don’t hear it we are sure it’s all fine but will send you for a scan today to reassure you!!

this is sooo lovely. I think in the second trimester it’s really hard because there’s very little signs that everything is ok. Apart from a slightly firmer stomach I’ve been feeling pretty normal xxx

Completely agree! It’s so hard to tell - I have had awful digestion with cramps so knowing it is not a baby related (did think it was too high) was soo good!

Awwww how wonderful 💜

That’s so lovely. It’s such a nice moment. Hope your husband is feeling better soon too. At least he will be able to hear it in person too at the next appointment.x

very true! He is not too bad - said he felt very hungover the first day! It’s annoying as I had it, we isolated from each other - I had been out a week (isolated full 10 days) then he gets it after that week! 🤦🏻‍♀️

That is really annoying. After all of that isolation. I guess now you have both had it, hopefully that’s it for the rest of the pregnancy now.x Just another thing we could do without on this journey
