6 weeks and bleeding

Hi everyone.

I’m 6 weeks and I’ve had bleeding twice in the last week. Fist time on Tuesday afternoon, it lasted about an hour and I didn’t really have any cramps just a weird feeling. I had bloods on that day and they came back at >8000 we repeated the bloods Friday and they came back >20000 so happy with that. This afternoon however I had cramps and bled for about an hour again then it all stopped. Both times it’s just when I wipe and it’s dark coloured.

My sickness has been dreadful since 5weeks and my levels are fine but I just had this bleed now twice and it’s frightening me. Has anyone had this and can give me some comfort? We are going to go for a scan Monday but just something to get me through tonight and tomorrow.

Thank you xx

Sorry to hear that, i’m sure it is very scary but it’s also common! I would recommend checking your progesterone levels just to make sure the level is right and is not causing the bleed. Are you taking any support? The hcg levels are brilliant!

Yes I am on cyclogest and lubion but it’s definitely worth checking the levels so I’ll ask on Monday. Thank you xxx

RubyVet I was having a similar issue... I ended up testing my hormones as I was was on cylogest twice daily and prolutex. I have now been switched to progesterone on oil and cylogest. Will get bloods done again to make sure my progesterone has improved.

Hey lovely I had brown stuff until I was 12 weeks on my last pregnancy and started again at 7 this time, just every so often, I'm assuming because of my recent scan and hormones. When you say it's dark, do you mean it's actually red fresh blood or brown and it could just be old blood making it's way out? I'm on cyclogest and the nurse said it was probably irritating me last time. xx

It’s a dark red with brown for about an hour then just brown. I’m on cyclogest too and a nurse did mention that to me after the first bleed. I’m hoping it’s something like that. It’s all so upsetting seeing it isn’t it. Thank you xxx

Do you use Cyclogest vaginally?

I'm calmer about it this time around as I know it can mean absolutely nothing. Keep in your mind that your body does all sorts during pregnancy and it's probably just the cyclogest and your hormones giving you a rough time... like this isn't hard enough as it is! ❤️❤️

Just to add, I have a relative who is 11 weeks further down the line and has had bright red and pink bleeding for two weeks on and off and they can't explain it, it's a natural pregnancy and the scan shows babe is fine xx

It is really worrying. It’s also very common I had a bleed at 12wks and they couldn’t explain it everything was fine. As long as it’s not filling a pad,it’s stopping and not bad cramps I would try not to stress too much. Just keep an eye on it till your scan 💖

I had bleeding at around 6 weeks (and a few weeks after). I rang the Early Pregnancy Unit and had a scan at 6 weeks just to confirm all was well, so I’d recommend getting in touch with them as they should be able to do a scan, which will hopefully be reassuring. I don’t think you need a GP referral - I think you can ring them directly. Bleeding at this point is fairly common but it is very stressful, especially after fertility treatment x

Thank you everyone for your help. We went for a scan this morning and all is looking good. Saw a heartbeat which was surreal. They think they can see where the bleed came from and said it’s nothing to worry about as it will either be absorbed or just eventually come away.

I just wanted to thank you all xxx
