It’s been a whilst since I posted. Pregnancy has touch wood so far been going really smoothly
im at 29 weeks today according to hospital scanning / 28w2days according to ivf dates
And over the last 2 days I’ve been getting at night a brown/ yellow mucus discharge when wiping. No more than 5x5mm in dimension. It’s jelly like. We had just taken a mini staycation to Norfolk 2 days prior- a 4 hour car journey each way but overall a relaxing stay. Bed wasn’t too comfy and a few pot holes on the road.
I’ve noticed in the last week or so I’ve had a massive increase in need to pee but nil burning.
I contacted the emergency number for midwife’s on Sunday eve and was advised to go to the hospital.
I’ve not had any cramps / bleeding / tightening as such - maybe a little but not regular at all and likely because I’m fixating on this issue at the moment
at the hospital they did a cervical swab
1 to check if waters broken which they haven’t
2 for infection which came back clear and
1 for PARTUS test to see if I was going to go into early labour. This came back positive but they said in the absence of other symptoms it’s likely this is a false positive
They did a urine test which on Sunday night the dipstick showed positive and 2mthe day later another urine sample was negative
They said it would take 2 days for the results of the urine sample to come back. so don’t have them back yet.
they observed me over night and I had a little more discharge but then stopped
They discharged me and then again last night a little more discharge talking no more than 3mmx3mm
I called the midwife emergency line they said it’s likely something irritating my cervical plug and can be normal.
I’m just a bit worried, and wondered if anyone else here had a similar experience or has any wisdom to shed on this.
FYI - I was told at 20 week transvaginal scan I had a low lying placenta but they would rescan at 28 weeks , at 28 weeks they did a growth scan which was trans abdominal and said the placenta was still low but they would do a transvaginal scan at 32 weeks to see if the placenta had moved away / definitively diagnose if it’s dangerously low or not.
thanks ladies hope you can help me understand this mucus issue
