Ferrous sulphate
Can anyone help please with the best time of day to take these tablets? Or any experience with having taken them? It's all well and good to say take on an empty stomach, but they seem to cause reflux and when one is already taking PPI 's for acid reflux this is no easy task. Also advised by GP

Magnesium
Hi just wondered if anyone has taken
ferrous
sulphate
at the same time as magnesium? I was finding magnesium helped my migraines, but now the doctors put me on
ferrous
sulphate
for anaemia and I've been told, you can't take both, as they stop each others affectiveness.

Iron Level UP!
After a month the effect reduced and I wondered if this was due to using Gentle Iron so I changed back to 2 x 200mg
Ferrous
Sulphate
tablets with Vitamin C every other night. More recently I have little RLS and began sleeping through the night again.

Can't increase my iron levels
Hi all, I posted in February 2023 my low iron results and started taking 200
Ferrous
Sulphate
daily then. My iron results after 3 months were Ferritin 39 (20-204) Serum iron 18.6 (4.4-27.9) Feb 23 was: serum iron 11, ferritin was 29. So not a huge improvement. But now, a year on, even worse!

Low iron levels with a heart condition
I was put on
ferrous
sulphate
for 3 months and at the end of the 3 months I started to feel really good and finally my hair stopped falling out. Those tablets were stopped and over 2 months I started to decline again.

Ferritin - 16 - have been prescribed
ferrous
sulphate
off the GP. Refused iron infusion as Hb levels were normal. Vitamin D - 88 - I take Adcal D3 twice daily. I have malabsorption due to a gastric bypass about 20 years ago. Many thanks 😊

Iron Bisglycinate
Sue said the two tablets (equaling 56mg) are equivalent to 65mg elemental iron in
ferrous
sulphate
because of the higher bioavailability. I just need to be reassured that I am taking enough iron as the ferritin response seems slow

Good news re. blood tests
Red platelet count is still quite high 479 and also Serum iron level which was 47.5, so not sure whether that would indicate the need to cut the iron supplement back Now all I need to know is when I can stop taking the
ferrous
sulphate
, or if there should be a reduction in the amount per day.

Help with test results - haemochromatosis with iron deficiency?
I've been taking
ferrous
sulphate
for 6 weeks and had everything retested. I'm so confused with the results. Can anyone explain to me what this means? I've marked the abnormal or borderline results in bold.

Taking Ferrous Sulphate Exhausts Me, Any Alternatives?
I have now had a prescription for 200mg
Ferrous
Sulphate
(2 x a day) and 5mg Folic Acid (1 daily) since March. I haven’t improve at all, if anything I’ve gotten worse.

Can Low Iron levels be caused by under medication for hypothyroidism
The GP thought the levels were due to a internal bleeding and insisted I had a bowel cancer test before she would prescribe Iron tablets and it was clear and I was given a prescription for
ferrous
sulphate
. I was sent to have a chest x-ray which was also clear.

How to escape Augmentation?
and pregabalin) Doctors also prescribed melatonin, Co-codamol30/500 and
ferrous
sulphate
, After two to three years on rotigotine patches (up to 4 mg/da) they where stopped and only then did I realise I was in augmentation because of the dopamine agonists.
