has anyone tried Zepbound for weight loss and it helped with their fatty liver disease?

I have been taking it since Jan but I stopped for a month due to side effects.

I also have autoimmune hepatitis and PBC.

Thank you

Jenny

Hi Jenny -I’ve been taking Zepbound since March so far I’ve tolerated 7.5mg but not with out the nasty nausea side effect I started in March down 42lbs from original 295 start

I’ll keep you posted as I will be checking for my mild fatty Liver and stage 1 fibrosis and see how the weight loss has made a difference in lowering it

I've been in a clinical trial for over a year and thus far have been doing well with it. I'm on the max dose. It controls hunger cravings and helps with dietary compliance. So it's still very important to have a healthy diet and exercise program. I have lost over 50lbs. My fatty liver is gone and my fibrosis greatly improved.

Update: Nausea can be a side effect as well as pancreatitis. When I was increased to the max dose of 15mg, I experienced some mild nausea for a couple of days after the injection. As a general rule, I tend to tolerate medications and have few , if any, side effects. I no longer experience any nausea with the injections.

I've read alot of good research being done that shows it helps with fatty liver. My DR prescribed it but unfortunately my insurance won't cover it.

My insurance would not cover it either.

I have heard only good things about how it combats fatty liver. There are competitors to it as well if it makes you nauseaus.

This sounds interesting, I've had been told I may have NAFLD and my doctor just keeps requesting fibro scans and he said it's gradually getting worse. I've cut back on carbs and tried to eat healthy, exercise, but its getting worse? I've even did fasting and only lost 2 pounds. I can't seem to lose any more weight. I was told not to use diet pills as it could make things worse. I really hope it works.

It doesn't sound like you're overweight at all to me, but listen to your doc.

Almost two years now. Staying at 7.5 to 10 mg dose. No side effects because my glycemic load and insulin is low due to nutrition choices.

my friend lost 42 pounds since starting it and was able to stop taking many other medications! She is losing her hair, though, and I’ve read that can be a side effect. That’s concerning. Have any of you experienced hair loss while taking the drug? I’m thinking about trying it… I read an article on Cleveland clinic’s site regarding how it helps mash/maskd pts…
