Seasonal Allergies Meds

I have seasonal allergies and have had a sore throat for a few days now. I normally take Claritin and Singulair everyday. Since the Fibroscan I stopped taking them. I called doctor today and he prescribed Prednisone. He claimed that is generally safe on the liver. I’m not very trusting of their medical advice. Does anybody on this forum have allergies along with the liver issues and if you do what has been prescribed? I also have asthma so I don’t want to have issues with the mucus build up in my chest.

I suffer with seasonal allergies also and was diagnosed with NASH in March. In May my allergies were so bad I went to my general practioner and informed them about my liver condition and was told to take allegra. Most of the OTC medications are processed through the liver.

I have allergies and was told to continue using flonase daily but I use only during my allergy season. I also have asthma and use an inhaler as needed. I was put on prednisolone for 6 days for inflammation of my arthritis. I read this is also used at times to reduce liver inflammation. Ortho doc said it was okay to use short term.

I got a prescription for 5 days @10mg of Prednisone. After reading several articles I got scared to use it. It did mention long term use. I guess it probably is safe short term. Thank you.

I’m actually interested in this post too. I never gave my Zyrtek too much thought. I stopped taking it for a while since my allergies were better, but I started taking them again about 2 months ago. Wondering if I should stop considering your inquiry 🧐
