I'm the same. KPA 36.6 result of scan last year. Told I have Fibrosis but compensated. US and bloods remained stable 6 months later even though I'd lost 2 stones by then. Brought my Diabetes to within normal range which I'm really happy with. Due my 12 month us scan for liver cancer surveillance next month and have now lost 3 and a half stones. So I'm the same. Can I bring it back to a better Kpa reading by this change in diet. I don't drink at all. I would like to know.
Same here. I need to gave better feedback from specialist and more advice. This forum is fantastic and I gave learned more here than anywhere. Bit of a tip. Don't Goigle anything as it is off putting. The Liver nurses are very good too. I hope someone here may be able to help us both. Good luck and keep well xx.
many thanks I have had a look at that it’s very interesting Iam atm only eating chicken fish veg fruits brown rice or pasta lentils outs skimmed milk and low fat cheese I do eat a few potatoes a week but Iam trying to limit them and I have wholemeal bread for toast with vitalite spread Are porridge oats ok ?
There are cookbooks (many of them) for people with liver disease. I know you don't want to google, but feel free to look up things like "fatty liver recipes" or "healthy liver cookbook" and you will be surprised how many delicious meals you can eat and live long and strong. Oftentimes a "healthy heart" diet is identical to a "healthy liver" diet so look for that to.
Once it is cirrhosis it is very hard to reverse but can be done. I was once 283 pounds. now around 210 and I have been in stage 4 for years. Lose the weight, listen to your body, take care of yourself. Rest when needed as you will have times you can barely put one foot in front of the other, but I still work 50 hours a week at the age of 66 and very active although I now have the NASH muscles as well and they have asked me to buy a walker because sometimes it is hard to walk. They say if I fall I might bleed to death because NASH thins your blood as well. I have been on the journey with NASH with Cirrhosis that I know of for 22 years, so it can be done. Don't overdue it. But live your life with a positive attitude and you will be fine. Keep losing the weight as that is most important.
I was just diagnosed with NASH 2 days ago, and NAFLD for over a year. So it’s new to me too. My doctor said to stay away from sugars. I look to websites and have a sedentary lifestyle for work. I’m waiting on biopsy results, so not sure about Cirrhosis. You’re on the right track of you’re eating healthy and exercising. Good luck to you.
