Fibroscan Test

Hello All,

I had a question about my Fibroscan results.. I was having stomach issues and my Gastro did a Fibroscan.. My Median result was 5.5..

I feel my number was high because of abusing nsaids for years for chronic headaches.. my diet also sucks and has to change..

I am scared though he was saying ranges 6 and above can be liver damage!!

has anyone got their numbers down by exercise and diet? Also, I don’t know if it matters I am a 35 yo/m

Any advice please thanks you!

Hi Rc

Those ranges differ somewhat depending on what the cause of concern is, but 5.5 is generally within the normal range for FibroScan. A lot of docs start to be concerned at 7. Many people improve their scores with lifestyle and exercise so at your age, if you adopt healthy habits, you should be able to manage it just fine but talk to your doc about any specific concerns.

Yes my last fibroscan is 8.9 was told my fatty liver was caused by being a diabetic 40 yrs. In 2018 I was told I had fibrosis & cirrhosis. Since then I have been on low carb diet. & exercise, by my hematology drs, and since then I have reversed my fatty liver & reversed some of the damage on my fibrosis & cirrhosis!!! I am 69 yr old male , so if I can do it You can !!!!
