Hi Utep
There is a lot of debate about all kinds of extreme diets. Keto and Paleo are, for most people, better for you than the standard western diet because they both minimize sugar which is the first step to helping your liver. However, since they are like nearly all the food fads they don't consider their effect on the liver which is your primary concern. For us, anything that makes the liver work harder is not ideal. Keto minimizes carbs by promoting high fat. A problem with that is they don't typically care if the fat is saturated which isn't helpful to liver inflammation. Paleo often concentrates on high protein which forces the liver to make fatty acids for energy which is an extra work load for it. There are other arguments that can be made about both but these are the general concerns. Our approach is a modified Mediterranean style with lots of vegetables and a significant intake of the unsaturated oil oleic acid found primarily in olive oil. It is basically a balanced diet with lots of plant products, complex carbs, and non-inflammatory oils. If you are interested here is a link to more information.
