CT Scan for lower abdominal/groin pain showed nothing except Fatty liver. Dr. had no comments or recommendations. other Dr. gave me heart healthy diet which is somewhat contrary to fatty liver diet but did blood work which returned ALT /SGAT 16 units & AST-SGOT 17 uits. Dr. says your liver is fine. had her PA call me who seemed to know nothing about fatty liver. Is my liver ok based on blood results? I am confused as to the fatty liver diagnosis on CT Scan and now blood work ok.

Hi Ellyn

Liver enzymes can stay in normal range even with advancing liver disease. A fatty liver by ultrasound would, for me, be reason enough to try to get a liver analysis such as FibroScan. Ultrasound is not very accurate and doesn't measure liver stiffness at all and that is what you want to know about.

High Wayne, Question doing the fiber scan and finding out you have sofi bruises what honestly can be done all we can do is just keep doing what we've been doing correct eating healthy exercising is the exercising doing the best we can to stay healthy so I just don't understand the fact of doing the fiber scan I think all it would do is just give me more anxiety and freak me out more I know it needs to be done I know it's important but I've also heard about inaccuracy on that test the test can be an accurate . I thank you for all your wisdom and feedback to all of us I've been reading a lot of your feedback and you're very wise and know what you're talking about and I know we all appreciated thank you

Yes I would say that that is very confusing, up with some people have a fatty liver and their liver and zymes are very normal have you been diagnosed with Nash some fatty livers will affect your liver and signs because it's not just a fatty liver that Nash causes inflammation and then the inflammation causes fibrosis and then you're looking at sir Rosa's you may just have a little fatty liver that a lot of people have and can be very common . It is really good that your blood work your liver and signs are normal I would just smile and live life And stick to your healthy eating habits If you're overweight just try to get some weight off that will definitely help with the fat around your liver

Thank you MW923. I have so much on my plate right now with other issues your response made some of my anxiety dissipate. It makes sense I just need to try to loose more weight down 10 lbs. need another 20 off and keep walking and eating properly. All that is enough to try and manage currently. I did find a supplement for liver issues that I have been taking . Which probably could not be good for my liver if truth be known. It is called Liver health by a company called PURE HEALTH.

Yes I've heard of that liver supplement I take liver supplement I take one myself but I take liver MD I've been taking it ever since I found out about my Nash condition in January my liver enzymes are not too bad I don't know if I had told you my AST is normal but my ALT is 39 you know weekly it can change you could have your blood drawn 1 day and it's not such a high number and 2 days later it can just go higher so it's very stressful but I'm with you with the anxiety I've been doing fine and the last couple of days I've been getting it So you're not alone my friend
