Do you know what the shortest dietary advice that actually works is?

It might surprise you but if you eliminate all the hype about a proper diet, you can do pretty well with just four words?

I will tell you what it is, but any guesses as to what that diet might be?

Give it your best shot and I'll tell you next week.

While not a perfect diet, for most people it actually works pretty well.

DON'T EAT ANYTHING WHITE

Think about it a minute. That is no sugar, no salt, no refined grains, no potatoes, no rice, just off the top of your head. Do that and your diet will be healthier and it is easy to remember.

Eat everything in moderation 😉

For a healthy person that is a good plan, but if you are dealing with a sick liver salt and sugar are a problem so moderation is not enough

Ok, there was the clue I needed 😉 the answer is ..... Low salt, Low sugar

Hi Painting

If you do nothing else stop eating sugar. Here is a link about that. The enemy is fructose.

Are baby carrots okay with string cheese?

I wouldn't make it my only foods but fresh raw carrots are good food. With cheeses consider those with lower salt and saturated fat. String cheese probably qualifies. Personally I like a slice or two of low salt baby swiss. Like most things you don't want to overdose.

Nothing white. Forgot to go back to the basics. I've been doing that for 20+ years with my grocery lists and prepared meals at home. Yet, I truly enjoy dinning out and I'll admit, I indulge in the moment with no boundaries...

As more health problems haunt me, I've learned to look at the fine print. Since following you and reading your diet plan, I've discovered many hidden "dangers." One example being soybean oil.

So, thank you again Wayne. Your liver perspective is both needed and appreciated.

Hi Allhis

It amazing how much small print there is. The food industry is quite unconcerned about our health. I don't know if you are a member of the foundation, but you may not have seen my newsletter about the Bliss Point

Just read it. Thanks!

I've only been here a month or so. My story is Baffled by Bile.

No diagnosis but anxiety disorder which I believe is not addressing the real problem of the liver...

I met with a psychologist who pointed out two things. One, there is a new test (GeneSight) that analyzes your DNA and helps you find what medications work best based on your genetic makeup. This will help me escape trial and error.

I wonder, could you ask someone if NAFLD or NASH would be part of DNA sample? I was wondering if the liver could "speak up" in a DNA test and say, "NO DRUGS FOR YOU!"

And secondly, he stated that I would get further with doctors if I stated, "I know I have anxiety and I am taking this Rx for it, now let's look into_______ symptoms."

Another doctor stated magnesium is a 50/50 shot to relieve the tightness in my neck and jaw. I'm trying that. I can barely bite into anything, it hurts to even yawn. And the pain in my left ear just causes me to pause a bit & then it goes away. The other day, I stuck my finger in my ear just to chew my food and finish eating.

Stress and anxiety make everything worse. Not easy and nothing works for everyone. There is a lot of DNA work going on but nothing to guide us yet. There is a lot of hope for those DNA tests but still early. Magnesium works well for many people for cramping but I'm sure it depends on what is causing them.

Your symptoms in neck and jaw sound like TMJ

temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Look it up on internet. Ask an oral surgeon about this... it might be your answer. cures can be exercises or may require surgery but there is help available.
