Disimpaction and nappy rash

Hi, we are 6 days into disimpaction with my three year old and this afternoon and evening she is looking really sore in the nappy area and telling me it hurts when I put cream on (though seems ok the rest of the time at the moment). I am worried about this making the now-frequent nappy changes a horrible experience for her (she already doesn’t like them and resists a lot) and also potentially worsening her withholding if it’s sore when she poos.

Has anyone encountered this? How did you manage it?

We’re using bepanthen barrier cream and today the pharmacist has given me canesten as well. Any advice on how/whether to use them together?

Should we wake her for a change in the night? I am loathe to disturb her and also not sure if this will make things better or worse?
