Recommended water intake?

Hi, how much water is it recommended for a 5 year old to drink? We have recently completed disimpaction and have now started on a maintenance dose of 2 sachets along with sodium picosulfate. My son is now having lots of small type 5/6 poos a day. I don’t think he’s drinking enough, I have to constantly offer juice throughout the day and he just takes little sips. I’m wondering if upping the water intake will mean the poo will come in one instead of loads of times a day. I can actively see him pushing but all that comes is a small quantity each time, Or, is it that the maintenance dose is too high if this is the type of poo we are seeing? Struggling to see how we ever get to one poo a day territory but maybe it’s the water intake. Thanks in advance

Edited to add, we were only able to get the Laxido into him by syringing the water with a Calpol syringe. Luckily he likes taking medicine so took it like this no bother. Thinking I might start having to do the same with normal drinks throughout the day.

1 litre of fluids per day

We have had success with silly straws and using an elastic band and asking son to drink to the band.

1000-1400mls per day for a 5 year old child. Macrogol fluid does not count but any additional added on top can be counted. It may be worth consulting with your GP about the type of poos you are seeing or contact the helpline for more advice.
