Hi Ladies, everytime i open my bowels i find it realy painful, almost in tears, and slight bits of blood, is there any thing that can ease this everytime i go? It's starting to add to my 100 daily struggles and i really don't need anything else

Hi LadyA

I have the same problem and i have been prescribed to help is a stool softner , on my last examination i was told i had a rectocele but my specialist was not very keen to talk about any options i had (if any) to correct it

Have you mentioned it too your doc?

Im sorry i cant offer you any real advice but i can say i do understand how you are feeling ,

Lots of hugs to you xxx

Hi,

I have bee given Movecol which is a powder you disolve in water. I usually go for a no 2 once a week at the most, but starting to more often now, still a bit painful but not as bad. The only think is with Movecol it does tend to give you really bad wind (but I'm past caring).

In understand how you feel and it's one more thing you could really do with out.

Good luck

Miranda xx

You could get your gp to prescibe laxatives or if you are fed up of taking yet more medication! You could try eating more fibre in your diet, brown bread, rice and plenty of fresh fruit and veg and drink plenty of water of course and lay off tea and coffee. Works well for me, hope it hepls you too xxxxxxx

You need to see your Dr about this. Around 1% of women with Endo will have it affect their bowel (so our Dr stated to us). There can be many reasons related or unrelated to endo for your probs. See your GP. It may be haemarroids, internal haemarroids etc always worth getting it checked out. Especially if you are taking anything to stop your periods for Endo then there should be no blood in your stool. If it's dark like coffee it's from upper GI, red from lower bowel. Either way see your Dr who will talk it thru + advise you.

yeh i plan to see my doctor, i dont take any medication only thyroxine for my thyroid and ive had that since i was 13! and obviously pain killers (that can be causing constipation) will go see my doc, its getting more and more pain ful, its blooming horrible! i should be out partying with my mates for the festive season, not stuck on the toilet crying haha!! always got to see the funny side!! thank you for your help!! xxx

Try sprinkling some Golden Linseed on your cereal in a morning, or it can be sprinkled into soup. A table spoon a day should do it. It really helps soften your stools (sorry to be so blunt!), and that might relieve your pain a bit. And, its natural, so I prefer doing it this way instead of 'yet more' medication from the doctors. Lets face it, we're on enough tablets as it is! I struggle with my bowels too, although it doesnt sound quite as bad as you. I hope you get it sorted soon x You can buy Linseed at most Holland and Barratts or any decent health shop. Take care xx

i got given a stool softner to take twice a day and for when really bad (going once a week) to take senokot with it too. I was taking co codamol for the pain but this made me feel sick, light headed and consitpated. i also got given a an anal cream to help blood flow to a cut the dr found. hope this helps. but only dr can tell you what is causing it!

Yeh i need to get to them ASAP, theyve been really mucking me around recently though! They have 'lost' my sick certificates and my work really need them, and all there saying is if we find them we shall post them to you! which isnt good enough because i need them asap!! but i will deffo make an appointment because i cant go on like this! im taking a liquid oral stool softner which is helping its not as painful, but still pretty painfull when i go and some blood to which i think may be caused from a rip as my last GP said i have a tag of skin there that can catch sometimes xx

I had this, and was diagnosed with having Endo on my bowel in 2 places. Its worth getting checked out. Also, try avoid foods which bind you up about a week before your period to make going a little easier xxx

I have Endo & also developed Hemoroids & skin tags which I had 3 surgeries for in the space of a year. I still suffer quite a bit with constipation in spite of a high fibre diet I find Millpar usefull as it has a gentle action it was originall prescribed as a stool softner post op.
