I decided to purchase a mini tens machine yesterday to see if it would make any difference to the pain I get thanks to endo... I must say, I'm pretty disappointed.
The pain didn't really lessen at all and I've still got the spasms and all the other nonsense that comes with suffering with endometriosis.
Perhaps I'm being a bit too quick to judge, I've only used it once and I don't actually have a clue what I'm doing with it.
I've found some information on the Web which says the tens machine can help with endo but I haven't found anything about how long do you use it for, how often do you use it and where should the pads go to give you the best chance at pain relief.
Even the little instruction leaflet isn't particularly helpful!
So, have you used a tens machine and did you get any relief?
If you did, can you give any tips on using a tens machine because I'm at the point where I would try anything!

i tried a lloyds tens machine too, i put it on my lower left back as that's where all my pain is but also pain at the front, i have only tried it a few times but didn't find it really helped, and made the area itchy after - my only relief is pain killers and the good old fashioned hot water bottle, usually shoved right into my lower front pelvis - i had used a tens machine 15 yrs ago when i had my second son and it worked wonders so i was positive that it might work but not for this, but i guess it may work for some - take care xxx
I've found it works for my back but not front cramp like pains. I tend to get really bad back pains in the days before my period and it has worked well to reduce that, last month my back was in agony and I used it for about 1.5hrs and it made a massive difference even though I only had it on one of the lower settings. Unfortunately other times it hasnt had any effect so I dont have much faith in it unfortunately but will keep trying it as a back up in case it has any effect like last month!
I found an independent study that shows some women did find that it helped with their endo.I also know someone who has pain as a result of scar tissue fusing abdominal organs together (this has a very similar pain to endo) who uses a tens machine.
Unfortunately I don't seem to be having any luck finding someone with endo who has used the tens machine successfully.
Hi ladies i just want to say that ive found the tens machine helps, especially wen on my period or wen i ache and have cramps but it only helps wen its on so i leave it on most of the day but its not a good idea to leave on wen ur eating, keep trying it takes more than 1 go for it to start working xx
I use it for my endo related back pain, which is caused by loads of adhesions. Twice a day for half an hour, placed either side of my spine, near the coccyx, on the 'joints' setting at about level 7. It helps get rid of the sciatic pain that goes down my legs. I don't know that it would help for the crampy period pains though, unfortunately.
