Hi everyone, just wondered if anybody has been advised to use the depo injection as a treatment option after having a lap?
Has anyone been advised to have the depo ... - Endometriosis UK
Has anyone been advised to have the depo injection after a lap?
Hi my names Gill and I'm a moderator for Endometriosis UK. after my 5th lap I was diagnosed and I was told to have the depo injection as treatment. Unfortunately it didn't work for me but I'm now on Zoladex and it is amazing!!!! I'm not bleeding, having a lot less pain and I'm way less tired.
I hope the depo works for you but if it doesn't there's other options.
If your looking for more information have you tried the Endometriosis UK website??? We also have a phone line service if you just want to talk and there's groups you can go to too to meet other women like us
Hope this has helped
Gill
I have not had a lap since last september and that was just a diagnostic one where I was told that it might be or might not be endo??! However I was prescribed prostap which I did not get on well with at all, so I am in the process of going back to GP where they have said try depo as a last resort! I would really like to hear some positive comments about this drug too as I don't like the idea of it being my last resort xx
yes the Depo Injection is my last resort too but i havent been on it yet... i am on the mini pill Norgeston but it ok but period every flipping month!! so i cant help sorry...
All I can say is don't do it. They may stop you bleeding but doesn't stop the pain. I've been on numerous inj and they stoped bleeding but not pain. I ended up back in for another lap as my endo came back with vengence. I also been on prostap for ivf n its made this worse. My cycles went from regular to sometimes never for months. But the pains still sore
