A bit of advice after 3rd depo injection went wrong

I had my 3rd depo injection usually have no problems, Friday night through till Saturday morning I was in excruciating pain unable to sit/stand/lie without crying. On Saturday I was seen as an urgent case at my local urgent care centre, I was seen by a nurse and then by a top doctor. They have both said that I was given the injection in the wrong place and I have been injected straight through my sciatic nerve... They admitted liability and that the nurse at my GP surgery was in the wrong, I am now on crutches as I cannot but weight on my leg and they told me the next 24-48 hours are serious as I am effectively paralysed down the one side 😔 I have to see my GP tomorrow to be referred to a neurologist for further tests. I am now unable to work due to working in a nursery with children and I am extremely reluctant to ever have the injection again, everyone is saying that I should put in a complaint what would you do if you were in my shoes I hate to moan as I know how much strain everyone is under but I am now affected with loss of earnings and being unable to move without the aid of crutches.

Look forward to hearing your opinions x

Hi Hun I replied to your other post. I really do think you need to make a complaint, if only to stop it from happening to anybody else. Like you say you are now losing money due to not being able to work . Also you don't know whether the damage done is permanent or not.

If you do nothing the nurse will not learn from her mistake.

Let me know how you get on at GP tomorrow. Thinking of you.

Aw thanks Hun, That's what all of my family have said to me if anything so it doesn't happen again, I am so worried that there is more permanent damage.

I will let you know how I get on tomorrow x

I know how your feeling. I'm going for mri a week Tuesday to find out how badly the nerves are affected by the 3 herniated discs.

It's scary though isn't it. Hopefully there's no permanent damage. Take it easy sweetie.

Oh Hun I'm so sorry this has happened. My heart really goes out to you. I just wish I had a magic wand or something and could turn back time so this didn't happen. It breaks my heart because I have an inkling of how much pain you must be in and not just physical pain but emotionally too. I'm here if you need to talk or just vent your feelings or frustrations. You are welcome to pm me if you prefer.

Please keep me updated on how you're doing.

Sending hugs my sweet.

Everything's taken a dramatic turn since my above post, please make sure they do it in the right place, I was injected too low down in my bottom which went straight through the nerve, sorry I don't want to scare you but I don't want anyone to have to go through what I am right now x

You poor thing. So sad to hear the errors that are made.

You need to report the nurse to her head of management quickly.

Thinking of you xx
