Does anyone know if you can still have a ... - Endometriosis UK
Does anyone know if you can still have a laparoscopy if you are on your period?
I will ask my gynae as I am due a lap next week and I will be on. I will let you know the answer but I am sure it will be ok.
Thank you...I am due to go in on Thursday so will try and contact consultant on Tuesday.
Just thought if anyone had experienced anything similar then would put my mind at ease....don't fancy having to wait even longer for the lap and any other procedures they will do to remove endo.
Hi
I had a lap november last year and I can assure you I was in full flow during this!!!
Don't worry, you shouldn't have to wait any longer xx
Same here... had one two weeks ago, during my period. Hope yours goes well.
Thank you
Am very nervous...even though had one 3 years ago...so much needed doing once they were in and it took me ages to get over it
Trying to be positive...thank you again
I also felt a bit nervous, as I didn't know what to expect. I cheered myself up by buying new knickers for the occasion as my usual grannypants might interfere with the stitches....
In the end though, it went well and I'm recovering as planned. I very much hope that yours goes well and that they manage to deal with whatever problems you are having.
Yes its fine, I had my period during my lap. U bleed after it anyhow.xx
Thank you all for your words of comfort and support.
Had lap on Thursday with an overnight stay in hospital. Consultant said they did as much as they could but there was so much scaring and adhesions that further surgery is required...suggested a hysterectomy. I have an appointment to see him on Tuesday to discuss further.
Thought I was ok about it but not so sure now...am 39 and don't have children....feeling emotional and confused....anyone else in a similar situation.
Family dont understand...they still think my husband and i will still have children and this lap will have made it all better.....in a very dark and lonely place at the moment
I had mine on Friday, and the exact same thing.. loads of endo (stage 4) and adhesions, they will have to remove my uteris and part of my bowel to get rid of the adhesions. Luckily, I don't have/want kids. Can't imagine how hard that must be to deal with.
Big hugs to you...
