Got stuck to the floor this morning...

Has anyone ever had that feeling where you feel like you can't stand up, or sit down, or lie down, or move at all for that matter? like there's something physically blocking you, and when you do move you get a horrible pain in your back, legs, and abdominal area? I felt at first like I was going to have an upset-stomach, but then I started getting spasms and that feeling disappeared and changed to something horrible (I can't even describe it, whenever I tried to move I got sharp pains all over the place!), where I couldn't move at all, I ended up sitting on the floor of my landing and being stuck there for ages, thus missing my 1st and 2nd lessons in school this morning. My only lessons of the day. Fml.

I actually felt better this morning than I had in a while, then once I was ready to go out the door to school, I physically couldn't! I missed all of last week, and the beginning of this week. Luckily I am seeing my GP tomorrow morning! Phew! My school are going to hate me for my attendance :/ bracing myself for the snide comments... Luckily my doctor is very sympathetic and is writing me yet another note for school.

Oh poor love! I know I had the same I literally could not move had to stay in bed while my dear fiance filled hot water bottle for me to hold while lying in bead on my front breathing as though I was in labour! it happened in the morning just after emptying my bladder and got worse and worse until I could not move with the pain... was having bad spasms it felt like in ovary, fallopian tube and uterus which spread down my vagina, legs, and upper abdomen. Also - I felt better for a couple of days before this happened... I called gp and she said if the pain was so bad that I couldn't move then to call ambulance and got to A&E. Well, did this and the docs thought that my ovarian cyst had burst again (the 4th time, it happened every month each time similar pain but in different areas making me physically sick needing morphine). Doctor said it probably happened during ovulation... get your GP to send you for a scan they might find a cyst or something. Schools are not very empathetic on period pain, I had to go to the sanitarium room every period in my school days and take ponstan and codeine, and teachers though I was making excuses for bunking lessons which made me so angry! By the way - this is not just period pain or menstrual related symptoms, there is definitely something not quite right when in that much pain! xx

Btw how are you feeling now? xx

Oh goodness, I have only had one scan last year and there were no cysts, but might be worth getting it checked again. I'm feeling a little better now thank you, just have a constant dull ache. I've never had it that bad before where I couldn't actually move from the spot. Was very strange to me, it did feel like something was very wrong, but it went eventually so just left it and now have a hot water bottle in bed, feeling much better. I was very scared earlier though because I was all alone in the house and my phone was nowhere near me. I hope it doesn't happen again, but I will inform my gp of the incident x

i don't know if mine is similar but i constantly feel like i am carrying a huge brick in my pelvic area, or that it is made of cement, there is always pain, i call it my dull everyday pain, and i have sharp, stabbing bursts of 'stop you in your tracks' pain which can last 10 seconds or several hours. i keep describing my pelvis as that of an old lady, with arthritus i'm imagining, everything locks up, to the point where i walk like an old lady lol xxx

Same feeling after my cyst ruptures for a few days afterward, it felt like everything pulling and was walking so slowly at times and going downhill was really hard as stretching my tummy muscles out. Walking from the station to my house when coming home from hospital after being admitted overnight took me ages! I think my pain was due to extra fluid I had in the pouch of douglas and the adhesions holding my uterus in a fixed backward position. Bowel movements were sometimes painful and the chocolate cyst put pressure inside, my hip felt like it was on fire sometimes. Bending, stretching, etc had to do really slowly sometimes. Endo is sure evil!

yes most, but not all, bowel movements are painful too - they think i have a chocolate cyst on my left ovary, have to be rescanned in 12 wks to see if grown or ruptured, think i will know if it ruptures but i can still feel it anyway, they havent said how big, just large, only a few wks away now so i should get my scan date through soon - my job is a mobile hairdresser, and i'm fairly tall so i seem to spend most of my time (whilst working) standing at an awkward angle, i miss the salon chairs where i could raise them up to the height i needed, and washing the clients hair, i dont seem to be able to say 'look, washing your hair for you over your bath cripples me for days after, could we use the kitchen sink, or better still can you wash it yourself' but i try to hint but they dont seem to take it, and then i feel i'm not offering them a proper service, but i am having to start to be selfish and am gradually able to say to some and the a lot of clients i've had to let go as i've reduced my hours from 45-50 to 8-12 if i'm lucky, feel so guilty not bringing in enough money though :( xxx

in reply toworth71

Yeah that's exactly the description of the pain I have all the time, except this time it was much more intense! :/ xx

You describe my pain perfectly! When I'm in bed at night I say to my husband its like having a house sat on my pelvis.

Glad your feeling a bit better :) That must have been awful being on your own it's so scary I carried my phone with me all the time in case it happened again in the future, don't wanna scare you but it happened to me a few times. I got scared of being left on my own after the second time and did not want to go out anywhere in the middle of my month or few days before my period or during it.

I had a scan in June 2009 as felt pain for months before in my right ovary like cramping and an alien invading it, just felt wrong. Scan showed clear and then the following June in 2010 I had such bad pain during period had an ambulance called and Dr at hospital just said - oh, it's just bad period pain! And I had a scan in September 2010 and showed a 3m cyst inside right ovary... and then it ruptured in 2011 January, February, March and April and had the lap in May to drain the cyst which had increased to 6cm in size! The ultrasound scan in June 2010 didn't show anything wrong with ovary but there must have been endo cells developing inside it to be getting all that pain and then a grow a chocolate cyst in it. Defo tell your GP and insist on a scan x

Yeah I get worried about things like that too, I hardly leave the house, and If I do I make sure my boyfriend or someone is with me or at least knows where I am. I will ask him tomorrow about another scan on top of everything else, thanks! :) I didn't even think about cysts! x

Aww I know the feeling - my other half brings in all the money now. He goes away 2-3 days at a time he works so hard. I used to have the same profession as he does as a senior support worker for disabled adults but could not stand the 13 hour shifts anymore so eventually cut my hours down, then doing just 1 day a week was too exhausting. Work was stressing me out as working with autistic and physically disabled individuals with cerebral palsy was so hard especially when giving them personal care, one young woman is so stubborn even though we use hoists, she is dead-weight sometimes when not in the mood to help me dress or wash her. I quit my job in December last year. Feeling much better since not been working and rested my body enough to be able to conceive naturally am now 21 weeks, and been fortunate enough to be in the position not to have to work but still feel guilty that I am not working. But other half says he would much rather work harder knowing that I was ok and looking after myself and little one in my tummy. I still feel guilty for not working though! xx

aww congratulations on your pregnancy - i think stress can add to our symptoms, i dont outwardly show stress but inside my head is spinning, worrying about this and that, and my main worry is lack of money, i am now at an age where i don't have to worry about school pick ups or child care, my youngest is nearly 15, so i feel i should be working full time but i just cant, by only working those few hours i do, it allows me to keep up with the household stuff, even though my hubby and sons will help, my husband is always saying leave things til he gets home, but i feel guilty if i leave it, so its just a case of i do a bit, and rest in between xxx

Thankyou! I am a keep-it-all-in stress head too! It's good you have a supportive family it helps a lot :) I just felt very lazy for not doing as much stuff around the house like a house-wife should, but when did a lot then symptoms got worse and didn't want to go out as was too tired, so now do little chores at a time. Hoovering a no-no atm as sacroiliac joint dysfunction brought on by pregnancy so just potter around doing bits here and there! All is good now though have no endo symptoms since been pregnant it's been fantastic :D xx

Hi, how did your appointment go? Hope the doctor listened to as so many I went to didn't take my pain seriously. x

Hey, it went fine, he gave me some more Tramadol, and some lacsative liquid to prevent me getting constipated on the pain killer, he has also written me a very good note for my school. I spoke to him about the scan, and he said he will refer me. I'm a happy bunny :) x

Great news! Hope you don't get another one of those really awful moments again - if you do think should call 999 and get someone if your not on your own to get hot water bottle and go on the bed with it on your tummy it helped quite a bit for the pain for me I didn't feel need to throw up when I did that. xx

Hey Sophie,

My heart goes out to you, to be suffering so terribly with Endo at such a young age cannot be fun. However, when I was your age, part of my frustration was that I had excruciating pain whenever I was on my period & having sex hurt too, but I had no idea that I had Endo as my drs at the time were pretty rubbish at diagnosing the illness!! It used to make me feel that I was some kinda freak! The gd thing about getting diagnosed early on [if one can call it a gd thing] is that u can start to get help. I do all the major painkillers as well - used tramadol for years, but becoz it constipates me so-o-o badly, I use temgesic more & also mefenemic acid. I've started trying some natural remedies tho & I'd suggest u do the same - flower remedies, regular massages, reiki etc It may sound like a bind, but I feel like my symptoms r getting better, tho I'd hate to tempt fate!!

I was made redundant from work last summer & I know my sickness record didn't help me. This is y the Endo sufferers have bn campaigning for years that Endo ought to be regarded as a disability, coz then maybe educational establishments & employers might just sit up & take notice, but that's another story!!

Don't let it get u down tho babe, I can empathise completely & yes I know it's a horrid thing to have, but us women r survivors & fighters & we have to pursue our dreams, keep focused on our goals & yes, simply get on with it :-)

Best of luck with it all,

Simy x

OMG - thank goodness I have just joined this site - I thought I was going crazy but I keep getting these pains and the last one was when I was driving!! I get such intense pelvic spasms, pain in my bottom, tops of my legs and have to breath like Im in labour. I literally cannot move and get so hot and feel like I am going to pass out. I have been recently diagnosed with severe endo and a endometrioma cyst on my left ovary. I am having a laparoscopy in Sept to remove the cyst, treat my endo, have a d and c and have a mirena coil fitted!! My consultant has said this may not work and I may need a hysterectomy. I have been signed off work for the last 7 weeks due to the increasing pain I am in and cannot wait to have it all sorted out. This site is a lifesaver I am no longer on my own!! Thank you
