laparoscopy questions.

Hi lovely ladies :)

Two weeks ago I was told I would be put on waiting list for a laparoscopy, .

I’m in north wales and was wondering if anybody could give me an idea of how long I should expect to wait for this?

Also, I have symptoms of diaphragmatic endometriosis, does anyone know if they will be looking at that area as standard? My gynaecologist is aware that I have these symptoms and she will be doing the surgery herself.

Hi

Can’t help on waiting lists but check how they do cancellations and if they keep a list. Ask if it’s worth getting pre op done in case there is. I did this once and worked, admissions suggested it.

Ask the gynaecologist if they will be checking those areas, ask them anything you need to.

Hope you aren’t in too much pain

Hi, I’m in the West Midlands (Herefordshire) and waited only 8 weeks, I asked for a cancellation and also was back and forth to the secretaries asking for advice to deal with worsening symptoms in the mean time. My last gynae appointment was 14th Jan (been going back and forth for years).

I had my laparoscopy last week (19th March), they didn’t do anything while in there (they didn’t plan to) but took a lot of photos. They found some small areas and an adhesion of my bowel, I’m waiting for the report to know more. I’ve learned a laparoscopy is just a stepping stone if it’s done by gynae, but helpful with starting a diagnosis and the next discussions with endometriosis specialists etc. will have to come next.

Hope you don’t wait too long 🙏

I have already been diagnosed with endo, ( even though I had a total hysterectomy 17years ago) and an mri showed lots of adhesions with my sigmoid colon stuck to my vaginal vault and my bladder is also involved. They said they would have the colon surgeon on standby incase I need a resection, so I assume they are anticipating doing some sort of excision .

my gynaecologist has a special interest in endometriosis.
