Dienogest & Copper Coil

Hey everyone,

Is anybody on dienogest aswell as the copper coil?

I'm getting the coil fitted tomorrow but I'm worried the side effects are going to counteract with each other and Google isn't helping! X

Hi there. Slightly different situtation for me as I have the merina coil - but i have also been on dienogest for 3 months under my gynecologist. My GP was not happy about prescribing but I was assured by consultant the off label use was safe, and a possible way to get some results as far as reduction of painful symptoms would go. I couldn't find any info online either - but have not experienced anything i would describe as bad results. Other than a bit of a struggle with hot flushes for the first week or two. Unfortunately the Dienogest didnt relieve as much of my pain as I was hoping - however it did completely stop any bleeding which was a pleasant change!

Hi there, i would definitely question them using a copper coil as it aggravates the uterus and causes more bleeding. Definitely ask for a second opinion on that.
