I recently had my lap, removed endometriosis from peritoneal cavity and pelvic . The fatigue and mentally anxiety are not going anywhere. I am still not able to get good sleep , my lower back pain and pelvic pain still persist. My mood changes and getting more anxious now. Writing for my regular period to come. Wondering whether at work place they will consider my problem and do i have any other options . Does NHS support and guide for people suffering from endometriosis ? I looked into NHS web site for endometriosis support for its workers but couldn't find any !

Hi,

I would suggest asking for a Occupational health referral at work. You can discuss how endo affects you and should be able to recommend reasonable adjustments to help you manage better at work.

Endometriosis can (and often does, due to significant impacts day-day) fall under the Equality act.

Are you still signed off work at the moment? Are you going back on a phased return? These are all things your line manager should be supporting you with x

Yeah I will joining back to work next week . Looking forward to to discuss with the occupational health team and wondering what way do they help with. Can you help me explain how does this fall under equity act .

Thank you 🥰

Hi,

If you visit -

endometriosis-uk.org/public...

Then look for 'endometriosis: a guide to rights at work' - this provides more information, specifically under the Equality and Disability section.

Endometriosis UK has lots of publications which might be helpful.

For me personally, some adjustments are to allow:

- hybrid working / working from home

- flexible start & finish times

- adjustment to absence triggers

Hope this helps x
