Ok, bear with me! I feel like I'm asking a daft question, but worried it's stuck inside me. So started first zoladex injection two weeks ago, then started next period very early , wasn't expecting it until another 2 weeks, but thought this must be side effect of zoladex. However the blood is much less than my normal period. So where is the blood that usually comes out ?! Sorry I know this is too much info! I'm worried because I think I read early on in this journey that endometriosis is retrograde menstruation blood - that it doesn't comes out but pools somewhere in body? Not sure if I've understood this right! So now worrying that more might be pooling in pelvic area rather than coming out

Where has excess period blood gone?

Don't worry x firstly endometriosis is not blood that doesn't come out that's incorrect. The reason you're not bleeding is your body is now no longer delivering the message to your ovaries to release hormones which in turn make you ovulate. This puts you in chemical menopause. We bleed because of hormones shedding the lining of the womb. No hormones = no bleeding on zoladex. When you take HRT you introduce hormones again and some people (like me) bleed even on zoladex. Remember that zokadex stimulates everything first so you may bleed for the first month or so. Hope that makes sense x worth goggling if you are still unsure. Endometriosis is tissue that grows outside the womb area.
Thank you! That all makes sense, wish I'd got taught more biology at high school lolCan I ask- will the zoladex stop me from shedding excess tissue that grows outside the womb with endometriosis? I've noticed something different about period blood last few months and I thought it might be body shedding tissue or lining it doesn't need , was thinking if periods stop all together will this tissue collect in body till surgery?
Sorry, not sure if I'm making sense here 😅 or overthinking it
With zoladex the body stops the lining of your womb thickening and shedding. We don't shed from outside the womb - we don't shed our endometriosis tissue. This forms lesions and scarf tissue which is what causes us pain as it pulls our organs and eventually joins them together which is stage 4 endometriosis like mine. You'll notice more tissue shedding before the zoladex settles.
Thank you so much for explaining and putting my mind at rest I think I have stage 4 as MRI showed ovaries joined together and have attached to rectum and gynae said he's expecting alot of scar tissue when surgery takes place.
Think I'll carry on with the zoladex , wasn't sure whether to get the second dose.
Again- thank you! I've honestly learnt more from this forum than any medical appointment over last three years .
