I had my lap 7 weeks ago and they found that my ovaries were stuck together, endo on my rectum and on my bowel also. The consultant was fantastic and said everything went well they were able to take away everything and I have healed really well.
however, I currently keep getting flare ups, even when I am not ovulating or on my period. Waking up with terrible pelvic and back pain etc I am wondering if anyone has had any experience like this? I know not everyone is the same etc but just looking for some guidance as I honestly thought surgery would of helped lots but already 7 weeks later I am starting to feel back to square one
Any advice would be welcomed
Thank you

Hey, I had my first lap in August, extensive Endo removed from pelvic walls, ligaments, beneath ovaries and detaching them from uterus wall. It sounds like you’ve had a significant amount removed and to be honest, people aren’t very forthcoming about how long recovery can take, that or it does just drastically differ based on how much you’ve had done.
I kept having sporadic flares for around three months, my pain has since continued but I’ve been given new medication which is massively helping.
My BSGE Consultant says it can take up to six months to see improvement, especially if your pain prior was chronic and if you’ve had a lot done. I would just keep a note of everything you’re experiencing and book a follow up if you continue to see no improvement.
Thanks for your reply, I have been keeping note of everything and as you say I will go back if I feel like something is getting worse or no improvement
I’m now on Pregagablin. It’s for nerve pain (and other stuff). I’m managing on a low dose and paracetamol through the day and then an increased dose at night as that’s when I was suffering the most with lower back pain. X
