My 1st Gyne app!!!: Hi guysI had my 1st... - Endometriosis UK
My 1st Gyne app!!!
Yes please
it is very sad, people wait so long for an appointment and when the finally get their appointment it often useless, and not tailored to the individual, they often always prescribe the progesterone only pill, and then leave you on that for over a year at least. We no effort to communicate in between. This is why I also keep going back to the GP, they send me for an ultrasound confirming what we already know. If you have the opportunity to have a pelvic MRI take it, it will offer up more detail. Good luck chick. Xxx
I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this. It's awful that this is the quality of women's health care. My initial appointment with the gynecologist, who was the head consultant, was very similar (mine was 4 years ago). She told me my cysts and possible endometriosis were not the source of my debilitating pain and I probably had a hernia!
Fast forward 4 years and I am due to have my second laparoscopy, ebdo excision, rectal shave and full hysterectomy tomorrow.
Keep fighting for the care you deserve. I complained to the health board, which helped a little.
Hello!
Sorry you are suffering like this. In my experience it’s a complete waste of time seeing regular gynaecologists. They don’t have knowledge or experience when dealing with endometriosis.
You need to speak with a Endo BSGE specialist. If not you will waste a lot of time and it will cause a great deal of anxiety and stress being gas lit or given incorrect information. Go back to your GP and and tell them you want to be referred to a specialist.
Good Luck
