just after advice , I’m currently on Desogestrel which hasn’t agreed with me from the start ( I have only been taking it a month) I have migraines, abdominal pain and other endo symptoms. During sexual intercourse I bled very heavily which I have never experienced before . Is this a course of emergency or is it do with my pill I am on , if anyone has experienced similar experience and what actions they took .

Hello, I’d go to gp and just get checked. Desogestrel very commonly causes bleeding (daily) but I’m not sure it would increase post intercourse. I had a cervical ectropion causing bleeding post, it’s worth getting cervix checked/checked for polyps etc (especially if it’s new/not normal for you) xx
I'm on desogestrel. It took three months for side effects to settle down for me. Before that I was constantly bleeding and felt very very low mood wise. But I'm glad I stuck with it now as it has stopped the worse of my pain.
As Tangoandmax says, it's very common to experience bleeding on desogestrel, but I'd check with your GP just in case, as it shouldn't specifically make it worse after sex. But it could just be that your body is still getting used to the pill. It takes at least three months, sometimes more, for the side effects to settle.
Thank you both for replying it means alot. I am worried as I have never experienced this amount of bleeding before (it is through my clothing) and during any hormonal treatment I’ve been given so it’s causing me concern. No pain relief isn’t taking effect and I’ve been awake mainly during the night in pain, I was given tramadol but it’s not taken it’s course ☹️ my partner thinks I should go to a&e
Maybe give 111 a call first? A&E waits are sooo long at the moment. If you call 111, they might be able to get you to a GP/clinic today, and they might be able to give you some better pain relief.
Try not to worry though. It's entirely possible that it's the pill causing the bleeding. It affects everyone differently. When I was on ny third week of taking it, I had a HUGE lump come up on my breast, almost overnight. It thankfully turned out to be a cyst that went away on its own eventually. But that just proved how much the pill was messing with my hormones at first!
