Non stop bleeding

Hi, Hope all is well. It's been over a month since I started bleeding and I have stomach pains, abdominal pain, back pain, severe nausea and diarrhea. I have had a ultrasound which showed nothing except for a small cyst on the right.

I have been to the GP several times and they keep prescribing me with medication to stop the bleeding. Which isn't working for me and I keep getting really bad headaches.

I have now been referred to the gynaecology team but I am waiting for an appointment. My Gp is suspecting it is endometriosis.

Prior to this I have had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy as they first suspected ulcerative colitis. Which all came back clear.

I have been suffering for so long . I feel so alone.

Any Advice would help.

Thanks in advance x

I’m sorry you’re in such discomfort. I’m experiencing almost the same as you since the start of July. I’m not yet diagnosed with endometriosis (I have my first gynaecology appointment soon). I’m also on POP. Not sure what’s causing what tbh. I hope you feel better soon.

Hello

I too am non stop bleeding since February this year. I am fortunate that I am already with a gynaecologist at the hospital (past 20 years😔) I have endometriosis and cysts. I’ve been on zoladex and hrt multiple times. This time it’s 15 months Zoladex and 3 months prostap. Tranexamic acid doesn’t work for me either or provera. It’s now a total hysterectomy in my case. The side affects of the medication treatments can be as grim as what we’re going through. Zoladex did work for me the first 3 times I had it, no periods, so no flooding, no migraines, no anaemia, bliss! This time no good, perhaps because I’m peri menopausal on top of everything else, I don’t know. Hopefully you will get some answers soon. Have you had your iron levels checked? Constant bleeding can cause anemia and that makes you feel really unwell too. Best of luck.

I’ve had bouts of non stop bleeding for months and it’s awful

I find that taking iron supplements can help with the exhaustion and headaches

My iron levels are low so I'm taking iron but my cholesterol level is borderline High and bilirubin level is high too. So have no idea why?

hey I can only give advice from my experience. I bled for 50 days and it only stopped with Utovlan which is norithesterone 5mg. I now take one tablet once a day and I no longer have a period and this works for me. This wasn’t decided by a gynaecologist. I just realised this allowed me to have a normal life and kept getting it from my GP. It’s been 3 years now with no period and therefore no period pain. I had an endometrioma which they saw on US and also adenomyosis and other things on my MRI so there was plenty of reasons for me to be bleeding, but with my medication I’m ok

5 years ago I had non stop bleeding and severe pain for over a year, with flooding during my period. It was causing me to be anaemic so I was really tired all the time. I was sent for an ultrasound and they diagnosed me with polyps in the womb and a large fibroid. I had an ablation done under a spinal block where they removed the polyps and cauterised the womb lining which worked and I resumed normal periods. I've since been diagnosed with severe endo and ovarian cysts and am awaiting surgery. The ablation at least fixed the constant bleeding and aneamia

Hi purple, yes it is an all consuming thing at first when this happens to us,

I bled heavily at the age of 75 and it came out of the blue, had a few *shows* before the main bleed but that was really heavy, stuck in the loo for 20 minutes or more,

After being transferred to a second gynea, my first was dismissive of me as being a worrisome pensioner, l had the second part of my hysterectomy and was found to have a deeply infiltrated tumour in the lining of my womb.

I am not saying that you may have cancer, but any unexpected or prolonged bleeds should be investigated.

Please keep a diary of all your bleeds and other symptoms and take this with you to your gynae appointment it is easier to hand this over than for you to try to remember everything you need to ask.

I sincerely hope you soon have the answers you need and will find yourself back in the road to health, l am here if you need to chat,
