hi all, I’m new here and really need some advice. I’ve been diagnosed with endo, adeno and pcos but am refused the surgery by doctors. I’m struggling with endo belly, leg pain, belly/ribs/back pain, extreme tiredness and I’m starting to struggle mentally. Are there any specific vitamins/pills or advice anybody can suggest to maybe make this a little easier?? I would appreciate any support as I’m starting to feel extremely low. Thank you <3
endo help?!?!: hi all, I’m new here and... - Endometriosis UK
endo help?!?!
So sorry to hear this. Were you at least offered the pill? Mefenamic acid?
I used to take inositol and something called Hormone Harmony (Happy mammoth, google it) but now on dienogest so stopped. You probably need some ferritin, vit D and omega supplementation too.
Good luck. Sorry about the pain...
Hi Aloo_cholay thank you for your reply. I’m on dienogest and have been for a month and a half so I haven’t been offered anything else. I’ve tried to take multivitamins but the iron normally makes me constipated and very sore to pass bowel movement. Maybe I should buy them separately? Thank you for your help!
I am on month 4 of dienogest and altho I am bleeding on most days, the vaginal pain I had has reduced significantly already.
I have separate vits and ferritin so I can recommend the split. Slow release ferritin might be worth a try. Good luck !
I obviously haven’t been taking it for very long but I haven’t bled at all since I’ve been taking it which is good. It’s just the pain is quite severe still and it’s starting to be more noticeable in my chest and lower back which worries me.
I will definitely try the vitamins separately thank you this really helps a lot!
Hi,Is surgery something you was wanting? If so, could it be worth getting a second opinion/ am opinion with a specialist in endo.
In terms of vitamins - might he worth asking your GP to do a blood test to check iron levels. I take iron tablets and it upsets my tummy too, I've been taking it with orange juice as helps the body helps to absorb the iron better. I think it can be given in alternative formats too like liquid and possibly injection so could be worth asking your GP as mag affect the bowels less.
I hear magnesium is often recommended to help with symptom control due to endo and other inflammatory conditions. I would like to try but haven't yet. Try googling vitamins/ herbal remedies for inflammation and should give you some more ideas x
Hi KittyTherapy! Surgery isn’t something I really want I’ve always been extremely scared of hospitals, needles etc and anything I can do to stay away I will. However, the pain is starting to become so severe that I would like to know the extent of my condition and if that’s what’s causing the vowel problems etc.
I currently live in France so I’m going to try to get a second opinion from an endo specialist some members of my family members used in England to see if that helps.
The doctors here said to take iron supplements but they made me extremely constipated so now I’m on laxatives because I was so scared to eat as it hurt so much and went days without going to the toilet so I started to get bacteria on my bowel and they said I shouldn’t take the iron anymore
Maybe I will try just a magnesium supplement for a little while to see if I notice a difference. Thank you for your help and I hope you’re getting through this experience the best you can!
Also peppermint tea can help with bloating x
