Hi, my pre-op for surgery was just answering questions about general health then 2 lots of bloods, weight, blood pressure. I think it’s mostly to check your general health and fitness for a general anaesthetic. The nurse then walked me through the procedure and what to expect on the day. Hope this helps.

I had mine last week, they did covid and MRSA checks, bloods, blood pressure, height/weight and an ECG.

A laparoscopy will involve putting ports inside your belly to visualise inside tummy looking at all the organ and they will inflate gas to better view things and yoi will a gas pain afterwards which might catch your breath but if you rub the tip of your shoulder ot helps release the gas and good luck

a pre op is where they check you bloods to cross match if during op you may need blood also they check blood pressure pulse sats and temperature they ask you questions like not to leave the country for six weeks after operation just in case you get could get infection etc also they will give you bowel prep if needed and go through that they will also do a tracing of your heart. They may ask you to do swabs for mrsa they will also may sure you know what operation you’re going for . The pre op is usually done by a nurse and a health care assistant you won’t see your consultant surgeon until your operation . The nurse will also check you height and weight this is for the anethntist so they know how much anesthetic to give you . You will normally have your operation up to a week normally after your pre op I had mine five days after . I nearly didn’t have my operation as my blood pressure was sky high but runs in my family so at 38 I’m on blood pressure tablets as I had to have further tests with my gp after surgery . They will also give you information what to take with you and if your am over night stay etc they will just say try not to bring too many valuables but just basic things. Good luck 🤞 I’m three months post operation . I was scared as I had an infection which led to sepsis after my diagnostic lap last year but I think I got ill as I had had two other surgery’s on my hands and had infections with that and my lap was third op on six months . This time as was a year later was fine. Although I got a kidney infection due to having a catheter just over night as it Irritated me.
