Hi,I'm stage 4 endometriosis, with 3 cysts measuring around 18x18x18cm in total. Tethered to my bowl, colon and bladder and i am now awaiting surgery.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had issues with bleeding after coming off Prostap? I had the Prostap injection for one month, alongside Tibolone. It really affected me and so I decided not to continue. After a discussion with my GP, I went on the mini pill. However, I keep bleeding; and it's for prolonged periods of time too. The Prostap injection was given to me on 28th December. I was hoping I would symptom free of it by now.
Other symptoms still include zero sex drive (not that I can have sex right now anyway due to pain), headaches/ grogginess and low mood.
Hi i bled continuesly on this medication with one week off only, stuck it out for eleven weeks. I've been told by a nurse it can make bleeding worse. And from posts here that taking two can help, but my gp surgery would not let me have two. Hope this helps sending you a big hug too, oh and feel free to ask anything else x
Thanks so much for replying. Do you take anything else now? I think I'll give it a while longer and then go back to my GP. I am also wondering if the Prostap injection has just caused chaos too! It is so difficult to know. Thanks again, I really appreciate the reply. X
Hey, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I was on decapeptyl injection which I think is the same medication. I had one month’s dose of it with Tibolone and stopped due to the mental health effects. Despite only having one month’s dose, it took three months for my cycle to go back to normal. I didn’t have a sex drive at all, had some headaches and hot flushes but it all gradually went away after 3 months.
Thankyou so much!! Hopefully a reassuring outlook for me 🙏 and glad it all went away for you in the end too.
I've been on mini pill for 4 weeks now and having really heavy bleeding and headaches . I might ring docs Monday as I think the heavy bleeding might be whats making me have headaches and feeling tired all the time x
