i have had my periods since the age of 12 i’m now 20, they’ve always been fairly heavy and painful, but abouts a year ago the pain started to get unbearable, i wasn’t able to get out of bed for work or college, then my periods started getting irregular, bleeding when i wasn’t on etc. I went up to my local a&e and was given codein and mefemamic acid to help with the pain, and while it gave relief for a bit it didn’t stop the crazy bleeding! i then went up to a&e again as the pain was so bad even after taking tablets, i felt faint, couldn’t eat properly was nauseaous. i had bled for almost 3 weeks! so i went back up to a&e and they gave me omeprazole and neproxen, and got told to request a gyne referral the list is 2 years waiting!. I’ve had ultrasound, blood tests, swabs and a cervical exam and have been told everything looks fine. But i don’t feel fine and I have no clue where to go from here?
Just looking for advice on how i should move forward as i can’t carry on like this

Definitely see GP about a referral and pain meds. They may suggest the pill as well. Don’t let them just fob you off with the pill make sure you get the referral as the waiting lists are long and to an Endo specialist not just a basic Gynae. They can refer to specific consultants. There is a good anti nausea med Metoclopramide if that continues to be a problem.
A&E can’t do much, although if you get in a lot of pain again it can be worth going and might see a Gynae. They tend to palm off with painkillers but can do more if need be. Ultrasound rarely shows Endo unless they are skilled at seeing it, blood tests rarely show anything either. Best scan is MRI.
