hi all, I had laparoscopy last week and was recovering fine, just took some paracetamol for the first few days. Then my period came and it bam, it feels like someone is stabbing me in the ovary, waking me up at night. It’s so painful. I didn’t have severe pain before surgery, I was dianosed after years of miscarriages and other symptoms. I also still have quite a lot of brown blood, which I was really hoping would go away after surgery. Although I know it’s really early days.
Does anyone have any advice from what they experienced with periods post surgery?

Hi, the first period post endo surgery are going be the most painful. Normally for this reason doctors suggest to be on pills until you planning to have kids. Post endo surgery you should do all you can to stop your period as in endo period is your enemy.
Especially ovaries have always a strong pain during first periods post surgery as its like our body is growing back to its function. I completely understand you
Bless you I really pray that it all works out for you. Endometriosis is the worst pain to go through as a woman. Mine was stage 4 and it spread mostly in many places. It will take time but it will happen. you will conceive . Maybe for the pain use pain relief however having that tabbing pan i your fist period and heavy is normal. The brown blood is basically remaining of blood post surgery coming out,
I’m so sorry you have it so bad, I really hope the treatment you have had has helped. It’s truly awful isn’t it, and so many people struggling to be heard and to get a diagnosis and treatment. Unbelievable really.
I don’t have heavy periods they’re only very light these days, which worries me, but that stabbing pain I do have.
