potential endo, no confirmed diagnosis.

to take it right back I have been experiencing numerous gynaecological issues for around 7 years now following my first C-Section. Extreme bloating, heavy periods but not painful and also periods that last a long time with darker/old blood. Fluctuating from constipation and diarrhoea.

I have been given various diagnosis’s such as IBS over the years.

I have always been on the pill (rigevidon) and this kept my periods at bay (for most of the time) but the swelling and bowl issues have most definitely always been present. Nausea also every single day with the feeling of being extremely bloated.

recently I have been experiencing pain during/after intercourse. So my gynaecologist recommended I have my cervix cauterised, which I had done around 10 weeks ago. Prior to having this surgery I decided to come off my pill and go cold turkey. My periods quickly resumed and then started the pain, and my gosh The PAIN when needing the toilet during my period has been unbearable. To the point I thought my appendix had burst at one point.

I had had the marina coil fitted 6 weeks ago and since then my symptoms appear to have worsened? I have been back to my gynaecologist today who recommends I wait a further 2 months to see if symptoms improve before doing a laparoscopy. I don’t know if I can tolerate waiting this long?! 😭 I am at the end of my tether with this, I am exhausted. I know and understand there is no cure, but i feel like even just having a diagnosis confirmed would give me some relief that i am not just making these symptoms up. 😭

hun I felt like you hun I went crazy thinking pain must be in my head haven’t had children but don’t think I can now as have deep infiltrated endo in my bowel and frozen pelvis . When I was ever on a period lot would be very painful to pass stools . I had the coil fitted four years ago and previous to that had one in for about a year and a half but that one came out. As free having my endo meterioma removed the heavy bleeding hs stopped but I do have constant pain. Also been told I have probable fibromyalgia. All I say is don’t give up asking for a lap I would also say try the coil . I defiantly Helped with the heavy bleeding and pain for a while. But the pain I have been suffering for the last three to four years feels like am having a period but don’t bleed and also really bad ovulation pain..the pain is just as bad now on the coil as opposed to not having any treatment . Good luck xx

Hi there, your symptoms sound so familiar. Pain before, after intercourse, pain whilst emptying bowels, especially whilst constipated/at time of the month, diarrhoea other times. It is so painful & it drains your strength/positivity yet you still doubt yourself.

I was diagnosed after a transvaginal scan, MRI etc. I hadn’t tried any hormonal treatment before so went on the Mirena IUD. That took 4 months to settle during which I experienced side effects that included headaches, acne & spotting to name a few.

I finally had a laparoscopy in March 2023 & found out I had deep infiltrating stage 4 endo. I still have headaches etc but the Mirena has settled down now.

Wish you the best of luck in your journey. You’re not alone in this. xx

Give the coil a bit more time as it can be life changing and I wish I could have it. I can relate to painful bowel movements and being diagnosed with IBS! I had an abandoned hysterectomy due to stage 4 endometriosis so I'm just bleeding non stop and trying different ways to cope. Some days you feel so bloody alone. None of my friends are going through this. I'm in hospital today waiting for an MRI which I have to self fund or wait 18 months. I'm desperate to know what's happening with the endometriosis, fibroids and adenomyosis. It's really hard living like this x sending love x
